The Department of Mechanical Engineering deeply mourns the passing of Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, the Founder Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University and a visionary educationist whose leadership and dedication laid the foundation for the establishment and growth of the University.

Notice: Industrial Training Opportunities – MEEG 434

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kathmandu University, is pleased to announce Industrial Training opportunities for final-year students under MEEG 434 – Industrial Training at various industries and organizations. Interested students are encouraged to apply for the available industrial training positions within 21 August 2026.
Industrial Training Commencement: 21 September 2026
Duration: Three months

Important Information for Students

1.Each student may register/apply for a maximum of three (3) industries/organizations.
2.The Department will review the registrations and coordinate the interview/selection process with the respective industries, where applicable.
3.The Google Registration Form will be made available from 14 August 2026.
4.Students are requested to regularly check the Department of Mechanical Engineering website, official page, and their individual email accounts for registration details, updates, interview schedules, and other important information.
5.Students are advised to carefully review the information about the available industries before submitting their preferences.

On 29 June 2026, our fourth-year Mechanical (Automobile) students from Kathmandu University visited Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd. for an invaluable industry exposure program.

During the visit, students explored the latest developments in modern automobile technology, gaining practical insights into:

🔩 ICE engine components and their design infrastructure

⚡ Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies and charging systems

🔋 Hybrid vehicle systems shaping sustainable transport

🌍 Euro 6 emission adaptation – advanced standards that reduce harmful pollutants and highlight the future of cleaner, greener vehicles

This experience helped students understand how global emission norms like Euro 6 are being integrated into Nepal’s automotive sector, preparing them to contribute to a cleaner environment and sustainable mobility solutions.
