Green Hydrogen Lab, Kathmandu University is 5 Years Old now. Over the years a strong foundation has been laid, milestones on policy and regulatory fronts have been achived, and graduates of international standardshave been produced. Hopefully all that has happened will contribute to the commercial business Developments in Nepal.
The 5th Anniversary Issue of the Lab has been formally released today together with Prof. Ole Gunnar Dahlhaug from NTNU, Dr. Støa from SINTEF, Prof Bhola Thapa former VC, KU, Dr. Binay KC, HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Congratulations to Ms. Aanan Ghimire
Green Hydrogen Lab extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Aanan Ghimire, Masters by Research candidate, on the successful completion of her final thesis defense titled “Hydrogen Prechamber jet ignition for lean burn of ammonia in an internal combustion Engine.” The research was supervised by Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa, KU & David Robert Emberson, NTNU.
Ms. Ghimire completed her study under the Hydro Himalaya Project, which included a one-semester exchange at NTNU, Norway.
We commend her hard work and dedication, and we wish her continued success in her future endeavors.

Green Hydrogen Lab Proudly presents a chapter titled “Developing Nepal as a Hydrogen Hub for Contributing to the Energy Transition and Green Growth in South Asia” being published in the book “Technology, Energy and Warfare in Evolving Geopolitics” by Routledge Taylor & Francis Group.
The work is co-authored by the team leader Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa, and Researcher Er. Bishnu Pandey.

As Nepal gears up for green hydrogen projects, the country still lacks an Institutional Setup and a Regulatory Framework to implement the Green Hydrogen Policy into action.

The Team Leader of Green Hydrogen Lab, Asso. Prof. Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa was invited to meet Former PM Hon. Sher Bahadur Deuba today at his residence. The context was Green Hydrogen Project Developments in Nepal and political support to speed up the process. It was a very fruitful discussion. He asked very interesting technical questions as well and appreciated the initiatives and efforts of Kathmandu University for Energy Transition and Green Growth in Nepal.
