The Environmental Health Module for our 7th batch Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) programme has officially commenced beginning with an engaging session on "Air Pollution and Health", delivered in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kathmandu University.

Our sincere gratitude to Dr. Bijendra Shrestha- Associate Professor Mechanical Engineer; Mr. Ashutosh Aman- Mechanical Engineer, Ms. Sampada Shrestha- Environmental Engineer and the Engineers Without Border Award Winners teams, for their insightful and interactive sessions on air pollution, low-cost air quality sensors installments and monitoring, outdoor and indoor air pollution monitoring, and hydrogen-powered vehicles as innovative solutions for cleaner and healthier environments and so on.

The practical demonstrations and interdisciplinary learning experience provided to our students with valuable knowledge on addressing one of the most pressing public health challenges of current time.

Thank you to all our collaborators and resource persons for inspiring the next generation of public health professionals through science, innovation, and teamwork.

The Department of Public Health, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS) is pleased to launch the 13-week elective course on "Disaster Management and Climate Resilience", for MSc Public Health (Epidemiology and Global Health), 7th batch students.

Offered as part of the RISK-E-SCAPE Project initiative, the course reflects our commitment to strengthening public health education through innovative and practice-oriented learning. It aims to equip future public health professionals with the knowledge and skills to address the growing challenges of disasters and climate change.

We look forward to an inspiring learning journey with our enthusiastic students and dedicated faculty.

Vacancy Announcement For The Post OF Project Coordinator | KUSMS

The Department of Public Health, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS), proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Ms. Pabitra Dangal, Master's of Science in Public Health (Epidemiology Track) student, on being awarded the Master's Thesis Grant for an Implementation Research. This prestigious grant is jointly supported by KUSMS, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), Norway and the Consortium of Public Health Academic Institutions of Nepal (CAIPHEN).

Her thesis, "Evaluation of the DHIS2 Tracker Implementation for Hypertension Care in Basic Health Care Facilities of Kavrepalanchok District, Nepal," was selected through a highly competitive review process in recognition of its scientific excellence, innovation, and potential to strengthen implementation research and improve public health systems in Nepal.

This achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and research excellence of our students and reaffirms our commitment to nurturing future public health leaders who generate evidence to improve lives and influence health policy.

The Department of Public Health, Masters of Science in Public Health Program team is pleased to share that our 6th batch MScPH student Ms. Evan Malla has been awarded the "Implementation Research (IR) Master's Thesis Grant", jointly supported by the Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS), the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), Norway and the Consortium of Public Health Academic Institutions in Nepal (CAIPHEN).

The grant will support her master's thesis titled "Implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs: A Mixed-Methods Study on Barriers and Facilitators in Two Tertiary Hospitals."

We are grateful to KUSMS, NIPH, and CAIPHEN for supporting implementation research and providing this opportunity to our students to contribute to strengthening antimicrobial stewardship in Nepal.

Our students presented a remarkable diversity of research topics, addressing real-world public health challenges with innovation, scientific rigor, and a commitment to generating evidence for better policies and practices.

From maternal and child health, nutrition, environmental health, mental health, health systems, digital health, and non-communicable diseases to community-based interventions, each presentation reflected months of dedication, critical thinking, and hard work.

We are incredibly proud of our students, supervisors, and faculty members for fostering a culture of research excellence and innovation. It is inspiring to see our future public health leaders moving in the right direction, transforming evidence into action for healthier communities.
