Participation in the two days training on Conventional tunnelling and Recent Innovation organized by Nepal Tunnelling Association and ITACET at The Everest Hotel, Kathmandu

Her Excellency Leann Johnston, the Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, visited the Kathmandu University Research Tunnel along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle, professors from the University of Southern Queensland, Heads of Departments, the Director of the Global Engagement Division, and faculty members from Kathmandu University.

The visit was facilitated by Dr. Shyam Sundar Khadka, who briefed the distinguished delegates on the construction activities and ongoing research initiatives at the tunnel site.

Nepal Tunnelling Association (NTA) and the ITACET Foundation are jointly organizing a two-day training program on 4th and 5th September 2025, with the theme: “Conventional Tunnelling and Recent Innovations.”

The Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering Laboratory is delighted to extend its warmest congratulations to two of our distinguished research members, Dr. Umesh Jung Thapa and Mr. Sudip Bajgain, for graduating on PhD and Master by Research in Civil Engineering respectively under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Shyam Sundar Khadka
