Students for Liberty Nepal successfully concluded an insightful event led by Senior Local Coordinator, Sabina Pun, on "Pro-Liberty Perspectives on War." On February 28, the session was thoughtfully organized and facilitated, bringing together participants for a meaningful exchange of ideas.

The discussion explored three major pro-liberty perspectives on war, focusing on the philosophical differences between Ayn Rand, Murray Rothbard, and Thomas Sowell. Participants engaged with key questions around self-defense, non-interventionism, humanitarian intervention, and the role of strong national defense in protecting freedom.

The event sparked thoughtful discussion and encouraged critical reflection on the ethics and consequences of war from a pro-liberty perspective, fostering a deeper understanding of liberty among youth.

Students for Liberty Nepal proudly marked a historic milestone with the successful organization of “Samvad on Data Dignity” in Dhangadhi, the first-ever SFL initiative in Sudurpaschim Province. Led by Local Coordinator Gaurav Kathayat, the event brought together 28 enthusiastic participants from diverse academic backgrounds including law, IT, engineering, and commerce. The session created a vibrant space for dialogue where students explored the intersection of technology, individual liberty, and human dignity, demonstrating the growing interest among youth in understanding freedom in the digital age.

The discussion was conducted in an engaging Socratic dialogue format, encouraging participants to critically examine real-world ethical questions. Through the thought-provoking “Acid Test”, attendees debated whether non-consensual data mining violates individual agency and autonomy. The interactive format, combined with real-time polls and open discussions, allowed participants to actively question, analyze, and reflect on the ethical implications of digital practices in modern society.

The event ultimately reframed digital privacy concerns through the lens of coercion, consent, and human respect, helping participants understand how liberty-based principles can guide ethical decision-making in the technological world. By the end of the session, students left with a deeper moral framework to evaluate issues of data privacy, individual rights, and voluntary cooperation, strengthening a growing community committed to advancing the ideas of freedom, responsibility, and human respect in Nepal.
