Was für ein Wochenende!😍
Bei beinahe winterlichen Temperaturen verbrachten wir ein gemeinsames Wochenende in der Steiermark. Neben dem Kennenlernen unserer neuen Volontärinnen Sarah und Katharina freuten wir uns auch besonders über einen Videocall mit den Kindern und Anamika. Wir führten viele spannende Gespräche, tauschten uns über Erfahrungsberichte aus Nepal aus und lachten über Anekdoten aus aller Welt.🌏

Als Childvision Team haben wir auch wieder Ideen für die Zukunft gesammelt und Pläne geschmiedet. Zwischen Spaß und Ernsthaftigkeit konnten wir ein gutes Gleichgewicht finden, um unserer nepalesischen Familie voll und ganz unter die Arme greifen zu können.🫶🏽

What a weekend!😍
We spent a weekend together in Styria in almost wintry temperatures. As well as getting to know our new volunteers Sarah and Katharina, we were particularly pleased to have a video call with the children and Anamika. We had lots of interesting conversations, shared stories from Nepal and laughed about anecdotes from all over the world. 🌏

As the Childvision team, we also gathered ideas for the future and made plans. We were able to find a good balance between fun and seriousness in order to be able to fully support our Nepalese family.🫶🏽

Laufen für den guten Zweck 🏃🏽🏃🏽‍♀️ Ein großes Dankeschön an die Sportmittelschule Lambach und die 170 laufmotivierten Schülerinnen und Schüler für euren Einsatz beim heutigen Charitylauf. Durch solch großartige Beiträge wie euren kann Childvision auch weiterhin für Kinder in Nepal dasein und ihnen Unterstützung geben. Danke🫶🏽✨

Juhuuuuiiii...doppelte österreichische Power im Nepal! Katharina ist gelandet! Ein gutes Ankommen in der nepalesischen Kultur;)

Sarah ist unser neues Child Vision Team Mitglied! Aktuell schon seit 3 Wochen vor Ort, hat sie sich schon mit ganz viel Schwung (nicht nur beim Fußballspielen mit den Kids) und neue Ideen ins Child Vision Nepal Projekt eingebracht! Neben dem Unterrichten der Kinder, Fußballspielen erhalten auch die Lehrkräfte regelmäßigen Englischunterricht von ihr. Danke liebe Sarah, für dein Engagement und die Liebe zu deinem Tun! ✨

👧🏾 The first 9 girls have moved into our hostel. 6 more will be added soon.

🧼 They immediately felt comfortable and helped. Of course, personal hygiene and games are not neglected.

😴 In the shared dormitory, the girls can feel safe and secure.

A video about sexual abuse was watched in class. In the subsequent discussion to raise awareness of the topic, the question "What are positive and what are negative touches?" was dealt with in particular. The students were then told where to get help if they needed it. In particular, they were made aware of the low-threshold offer of a free hotline.

Last week Kerstin and Elisabeth organized a workshop about menstruation for girls from 10 to 14 years.

Sanitary products to use during menstruation are rare and the knowledge about them also. Learning about hygienic during menstruation is an important health care topic for women in Nepal.

The information was packed into a role play and many of the kids could relate and started to think about and asked questions.

At the end of the workshop the girls made wrist bands as a reminder to „Holding each other’s hand, together we will grow“.

In Nepal women during menstruation are seen as being “unclean”. Here, women are not allowed to access the kitchen or to touch any food items. In the countryside, there are still areas where women must stay at a different place together with the livestock
