(50 meters south of Khwopa Engineering College)

Today, we celebrate Chinese Language Day, observed on April 20 and established by the United Nations to promote multilingualism and cultural diversity worldwide. Under the initiative, UN duty stations around the world celebrate six separate days, each dedicated to one of the Organization's six official languages.

Why April 20?
This date commemorates Cangjie (仓颉), the legendary inventor of Chinese characters—marking the origins of one of the world’s oldest and most fascinating writing systems.

From the elegance of Chinese characters to the depth of its philosophy, literature, and culture, the Chinese language is not merely a means of communication—it is a gateway to understanding one of the world’s greatest civilizations.
It carries centuries of wisdom, artistic expression, and a unique worldview that continues to shape global culture today.
