We are participating in The Idea Challenge 2022! PhD candidates from the universities of Bristol, Zagreb, Alto and are trying to solve this year's challenge. Our candidates are wearing location- and interaction-tracking hats during the challenge to study movements and interactions while working.

Easter is a great time to get out and enjoy the last snow before spring!

Every so often the PhD students host TrollLABS Open - where they compete in various activities, but with a twist. This year the twist was that they had to build their own skiis without using any standard ski-materials.

PS! No PhD students were hurt during the creation of this video.

As our lab leader and mentor Martin Steinert is currently on a sabbatical, we had to get creative to include him in the celebrations of accepted and published papers. This gong was contructed to activate when a paper gets accepted. This way everyone in the lab gets notified!

The latest publication happened on Friday, the 1st of April and was luckily not an April's fool. The paper can be read here:

The master students here at the lab have started "Cake Wednesdays" as they are mostly alone in the area on Wednesdays.

While trying, they have not yet matched the skills of 😅

The lab is usually very busy during the weekdays in the spring semester. Therefore some people like to use the weekend to get some work done, like Larry the Mannequin did this Saturday.

Larry is actually a Master project on medical training and simulations, but he still likes to listen to music and take a break in the hammock.

Very cool article on one of our projects that was recently published!

Low-cost printers can be compatible with high-end materials trough relatively simple modifications. This opens up for more research and knowledge on additive manufacturing by increasing accessibility of hardware.

Unfortunately the kick-off must be digital, but we are looking forward to fewer restrictions and more fun in the lab going forward!

Creative minds are not always the tidiest. Here at TrollLABS we are good at prototyping, creating and actually publishing research. However we have been lacking a proper social media presence to share what we do. Therefore we are now also on Instagram!

TrollLABS is an innovation lab, and many of the projects here produce completely new data and solutions. The results often end up as publications, and today PhD candidate Sindre Wold Eikevåg gave a short introduction on writing papers for some of this year's Master students.
