Here’s Arnt, who’s been having lessons here for about a year.

In that time, he’s learnt to play some cool stuff, including songs by The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. In this photo Arnt’s trying my Strat, as he’s thinking about buying his first electric guitar. Really great to see students making such good progress!

Pedal of the day: Released in 2000, the Line 6 DL4 digital modelling pedal has become a legend in the world of guitar pedals. It features 16 different delay and echo effects, based on analogue and tape units, is programmable, and has a loop function. Ours is about 20 years old now, has been dragged across Europe and North America, and jumped on hundreds (or even thousands) of times. The paint is falling off, but it still sounds great.

Pedal of the day: Introduced in 1975, the MXR Phase 100 is a programmable version of the classic Phase 90 phaser pedal, both of which can be heard on lots of Van Halen and Rolling Stones albums. This particular one is from the early-eighties, and makes everything sound swirly and lovely!
