Design vs Music

Design vs Music Design event under Insomnia Festival, in Tromsø // Norway Design vs Music is created by Tank Design Tromsø and supported by Grafill.

Tank Design was started in Oslo in 1999 and established a indipendent office in Tromsø back in 2002. Tank is today 19 designers with a broad range of experience within profile design, packaging design and screen design. Tank in Tromsø has received “Merket For God Design” (the mark for good design) three times for their design of North Norwegian products. The designers in the little Tromsø office has over the last few years gained loads of attention both national and international for their work. Tank Design has been partner of Insomnia Festival since its beginnings, and contributed to the festival with the event "Design vs Music" since 2005. WOW! Fantastic News!

We've got the confirmation that Kjell Ekhorn from Non-Format will join us at Design vs Music. Kjell had already been our guest in 2007 and will return to our little 10-years-birthday celebration. Wonderful!

Kjell Ekhorn (born in Narvik, Norway) founded Non-Format together with British born Jon Forss in 2000. After seven years of working together in their east London studio Jon relocated to Minneapolis, USA in 2007 while Kjell returned to his native Norway in 2009. The two are still successfully running Non-Format with a virtual Skype & FaceTime ‘office’ and a time difference of seven hours between them. Their clients includes Nike, Adobe, Coca-Cola, LG, Rick Owens, Tate Modern, nyMusikk and Sony Music to name a few.

Johan Nijhoff is currently lost in China! But we are happy to announce that his colleague Anton Lamberg will come to Tromsø to inspire us with great stories from Lava Design.

Lava Design is working for over 25 years for (inter)national clients, like the Moscow Design Museum, Amsterdam city marketing, Museum of world cultures, Garage in Moscow, Beijng Design Week, Istanbul Biennale, National Security Summit and many others.
Anton is a senior designer, originally from Sweden with a heart for design and technology. He’s discovering and researching new metrologies of designing. He studied in the Netherlands at The Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.

Vi har en god og en dårlig nyhet, her er den gode først: vi er stolte av å kunne fortelle at Ludvig Bruneau Rossow (fra Bleed/Bureau Bruneau) vil bli en del av årets program!

Ludvig Bruneau Rossow er en multidisiplinær designer basert i Oslo. Han uteksaminerte fra Westerdals i 2010 og har siden jobbet hos Uniform, Sagmeister Inc. (Internship) og Bleed, hvor han er ansatt i dag. Ludvig driver i tillegg Bureau Bruneau, en egen freelance-praksis forbeholdt ytterligere utforskning og eksperimentelt arbeid innen grafisk design. I 2012 mottok han den prestisjefulle "Young Guns" tittelen av Art Directors Club i New York og han har tidligere mottatt utmerkelser som Visuelt, Merket for god design og Årets vakreste bøker.

Lava was founded in 1990 by creative director Hans Wolbers (the Netherlands, 1965). The current team exists of 10 talented designers and three project managers. The agency is focused on creative strategy, editorial design and dynamic identities.
