At the end of last school year, our Middle School students demonstrated exceptional dedication during their 45-minute sponsored run. Combined with the proceeds from our concert and musical bake sales, their effort showcased a admirable commitment to community service and global awareness.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our school community, we raised more than 70 000 NOK for Northern Lights Aid. These funds directly support the Norwegian NGO's vital work in improving living standards and developing community initiatives for refugee families in Kavala, Northern Greece. We extend our sincere gratitude to our students, parents and supporters for making this impactful contribution possible!

We are so excited to share the official music video for "Despite the Darkness"—an original song written by our Primary School music teacher, Ms. Lacey Iverson, and beautifully performed by our Primary School students! ❤️

While our primary singers provide the inspiring soundtrack, this video celebrates our entire K-12 school community. It showcases how students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 choose to create light through year-round charity work and awareness initiatives, including raising awareness for neurodiversity, showing solidarity for breast cancer research, and taking hands-on action with local beach cleanups.

Together, across every grade level, our students prove that when we combine clever minds and human hearts, we can make a real difference. Take a few minutes to watch, be inspired, and see the incredible impact our students and staff are making!

Our Design Technology and Robotics exhibition was an outstanding demonstration of student innovation and technical skill. Throughout the showcase, our students truly embodied what it means to be Innovative Creators and Creative Problem Solvers.

Our Grade 7 Design Technology students designed custom-crafted charcuterie boards, while our Grade 10 DT students connected classic design projects directly to real-world applications. Meanwhile, our Grade 9 & 10 Robotics students built fully interactive arcade machines, developing unique coding and mechanical solutions to overcome complex technical challenges.

Every project on display proved that when students step outside their comfort zones to innovate and solve complex problems, they develop the vital skills necessary to thrive.

Our Kindergarten students had an incredible time exploring Lundsvågen Nature School this week! Located right by the harbour, this area is so much more than just a beautiful destination. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly heading out onto the open sea in boats, where the children got to experience the thrill of the waves firsthand. They learnt how to fish and discovered the fascinating world of crabs and all the different kinds of fish living beneath the surface.

The most exciting moment for many was getting the chance to actually steer the boat. We watched their curiosity take flight as they engaged with the marine environment in such a hands-on, exciting learning environment. Well-being and discovery are always at the centre of the experience at Lundsvågen and we are so grateful for this fantastic Stavanger resource. Our little captains have returned to school with big smiles and plenty of "fish stories" to share with everyone!

Our Grade 10 Creative Media Design students stepped out of the classroom and into a high-tech media hub with an incredible visit to the NATO Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger! Having spent time in class on producing YouTube videos and launching their own podcasts, this was a great opportunity for our students to see how professional media facilities operate at the highest level. The visit focused on how modern media equipment is used to create realistic training scenarios.

The highlight of the day? Three of our students participated in a real podcast produced specifically for our trip! Seeing the production process in action offered invaluable lessons for our own class projects.

A massive thank you to the MEDIASIM team and the Chief of Staff for letting us explore their facilities and showing our creators how the tools they use in class are applied in the real world!

After studying the Italian Renaissance in general, and Leonardo da Vinci in particular, Grade 8 students were given the choice how to show their learning. Some put together a visual display of what they had learned, two people created Renaissance style clothing, one student researched what ingredients were available at the time, to then cook a Renaissance meal for his parents. Several people built models inspired by Leonardo's designs. Others decided to produce a work of art in Renaissance style, either a sculpture, sketches or a painting. The results, in all their variety, were excellent. They showed the different ways in which students learn, and every one of them showed initiative, responsibility and creativity in their approach. The value of letting students take part in the decisions that affect their work and learning is obvious from the results.
