PRAXIS Oslo is a laboratory for the study of dance and movement-based forms.

To check our upcoming classes and events and to rent studio space please visit our website.
Our studio is located in Himmelrom at Hausmania PRAXIS Oslo is an arena where professional performing artists in dance, and performance through insight into each other's practice can share and discuss different artistic processes with colleagues in the field. The background for the idea is their own thoughts on what is relevant training for performers, and curiosity about other practitioners' practice.

Workshop showing!
After a week of workshop, Farah Saleh, Amir Sabra and the participants will show what they have been working on. Join us this Friday at Rom for Dans at 15:30

Praxisfestivalen 2025 – The Palestine Edition presents works that have not been performed before in Norway, enabling a better understanding of what Palestinian dance art is – and can be. The works explore the political body and decolonial embodied practices. Dansens Hus creates a space for sharings, discussions and conversations – and for solidarity in practice.

The festival is co-produced and hosted by Dansens Hus. Collaborators are Proda, Rom for dans, Høyskolen for dansekunst, PraxisOslo, Danseinformasjonen and Black Box Theatre. Funded by the Arts Council Norway.

Panel discussion: Why dance now?
Dansens Hus foyer
14. November - 20:15

Welcome to this panel discussion, where festival curators Farah Saleh and Amir Sabra will be in conversation with Mohanad Smama, Nur Garabli, Misan Samara and Jassem Hindi. The artists will discuss what it means to create under occupation, apartheid, and genocide. The panel will reflect on the importance of dance in Palestinian Sumud (steadfastness) and the role it plays as a decolonial gesture. It will also tackle the restrictions imposed on funding due to political reasons, and the challenges and opportunities of co-productions with international partners.
