Computational Physics UiO Computational Physics is an institution at the University of Oslo which focuses on numerical solutions to a broad range of physical problems.

The research group on Computational Physics at the Department of Physics of the University of Oslo, has its main focus on the development of theoretical and computational methods for quantum mechanical and statistical mechanics systems. Our research spans from dense matter such as neutron stars to the flow of liquids in porous media. Our core research is structured into three main areas, offering thereby a wide perspective on thesis projects: theoretical physics with an emphasis on quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics, computational physics/numerical mathematics and high-performance computing.
