IN.TUNE - Innovative Universities in Music & Arts in Europe
The only European Universities Alliance in the field of Music and Arts. Co-funded by the European Union @European_Commission
24/05/2026
IN.TUNE - Innovative Universities in Music & Arts in Europe recently celebrated a major milestone at the mdw: the first IN.TUNE Summit.
During the Summit, an information event called 'Get to Know IN.TUNE' took place, where interested participants were invited to join IN.TUNE representatives to explore the Alliance's work and future, and to discover the answer to the question: "What does IN.TUNE mean in practice?"
This became very evident when Lucie Lou Camps, a student from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Osl0 (Norges musikkhøgskole), shared how "IN.TUNE is everywhere" in her daily student life, from international teaching and exchange opportunities to collaborating with fellow students across Europe.
A special highlight was the presence of Eva-Maria Holzleitner, Austrian Federal Minister for Women, Science and Research (Bundesministerium für Frauen, Wissenschaft und Forschung ), who opened the event together with mdw Rector Ulrike Sych. Minister Holzleitner emphasized the importance of IN.TUNE as the only European Universities Alliance in the field of music and the arts.
🎤 A panel discussion, moderated by Martin Prchal, vice rector (The Hague) and IN.TUNE Co-Secretary General, featuring students Stefan Josipović (Belgrade) and Lucie Lou Camps (Oslo), teacher Enric Guaus (Barcelona), rector Émilie Delorme (Paris) and mdw vice rector Gerda Müller, offered further insights into the present and future of the alliance.

The IN.TUNE Governing Board has adopted a statement of support for the students, staff, teachers, artists and leadership of the Fakultet Muzicke Umetnosti Beograd, a founding member of our alliance.
At a time of deep concern for academic freedom, institutional autonomy and the rule of law in Serbia, IN.TUNE reaffirms its solidarity with colleagues and students at the University of Arts Belgrade, and recognises their resilience, courage and continued commitment to our shared alliance work.
Academic freedom, artistic creation and institutional autonomy are not only national concerns. They are fundamental to the integrity of the European cultural, artistic and academic community.

At the Norwegian Academy of Music, they presented their paper When Supervision Opens the Mind: Reflections from a Master’s Programme in Applied Music Research and had the opportunity to exchange experiences with students, researchers and professors from across Europe, with a particular focus on contemporary approaches to supervision in higher music education.
