CALLING ALL BURLY STARS!
Oslo School of Burlesque is hosting our Newcomers Summer Showcase on June 12th, and we’re now opening sign‑ups for anyone who wants to perform a solo act on stage!

If you’ve taken classes with us this past fall or spring, if you’re working on your first act, maybe you’ve been dreaming about stepping into the spotlight, or if you've done a solo or two before — This is your moment.
We welcome all styles, all bodies, all levels of experience, and all forms of burlesque expression. This is a safe, encouraging space for first‑time performers.

✨ To sign up, send us an email ([email protected]) with:
– Your performer name
– A short description of the act (style, theme, story)
– Approx. act length (3-5 minutes)
– Song name and artist
– Any needs (props, chair, etc.)

We have a limited number of spots, so sign up early if you want to be part of this glittery, supportive, and beautiful night!

The performance spot is not paid, but includes mentorship and availability for questions and guidance during your creative process, personal coaching sessions offered at a reduced rate, along with professional photo and video material.

Our next round of classes is officially open, and we’re diving into eight weeks of movement, creativity, and performer‑centered skill building. This cycle brings together everything we love about burlesque: classic bumps n grinds, dance‑driven Neo Burlesque, act/solo creation, business practices for performers, fan technique, and stocking peel techniques.

Whether you’re building your first act, sharpening your technique, or craving a weekly dose of glitter and community, you’re welcome here.
You can join the full 8‑week package or drop in to the classes that spark your curiosity. Totally flexible, totally you.

Today we mark World Mental Health Day – and at Oslo School of Burlesque we do it with dance, burlesque and a big heart for inclusion and safety 🧡

Research shows that dance can be a powerful resource for mental health. In a Swedish study with over 100 young people with mental health problems, participants in dance groups experienced increased quality of life, reduced stress and fewer health visits – thanks to undemanding movement and supportive community. Dance was described as a refuge from pressure and as a path to physically rooted self-confidence.

Burlesque takes this even further: here you not only get to move, but also express yourself. You get to own your body, your story and your place on stage, on your own terms. It is empowerment in practice.

For us, mental health is not just a topic – it is part of our pedagogy, community and performing arts. We believe that safety, play and creative expression can promote health. And we see it ✨️ every week ✨️ in our classes, workshops and showcases.
