We are excited to offer an online Norwegian course for complete beginners (A1–A2) starting Monday, 07/07, from 16:45–18:45 (CET). Whether you’re by the beach, in the mountains, or simply enjoying a staycation, you can join us for fun, interactive, and structured language lessons, right from your laptop or tablet!

Our online courses are led by experienced and friendly teachers who focus on helping you build real-life communication skills from day one. Lessons include speaking, listening, reading and writing practice, and follow the textbook "Ny i Norge 2023" (make sure to order your copy in advance!).

How to Practice Your Norwegian During the Summer!

Summer is here! Whether you're staying in Norway or traveling elsewhere, the warmer months offer a perfect opportunity to continue building your Norwegian skills, without the pressure of the classroom. Here are some fun and practical ways to keep learning and stay connected to the language over the summer:

1. Bring Norwegian Into Your Daily Life
Summer is all about enjoying life, and there's no reason you can't do that på norsk. Try switching your phone, social media, or Netflix language settings to Norwegian. Even simple things like reading recipes, checking the weather, or listening to music in Norwegian will help your brain stay in "language mode."

2. Watch Norwegian TV and Films
Streaming platforms are full of great Norwegian content. Series like SKAM, Pørni, Ragnarok, Hjem til jul or documentaries from NRK are both entertaining and educational. Use Norwegian subtitles if you're feeling confident, or English ones to start with, the key is to keep your ears tuned in.

3. Read Something Light (and Fun!)
Whether it's a children's book, a comic, a magazine, or a blog post, try to read a little Norwegian every day. Libraries often have easy-read books and graded readers for language learners. Bring a short story or e-book to the beach!

4. Practice Speaking ~ Even a Little
Even if your usual course is on pause, you can still speak Norwegian. Practice with friends, chat with locals, or even talk to yourself, yes, it helps! Apps like Tandem or HelloTalk can connect you with language partners. If you're in Norway, try to order your coffee, ice cream, or train ticket in Norwegian.

5. Keep a Summer Diary in Norwegian
Writing a few sentences each day about what you've done, seen, or plan to do is a fantastic way to build vocabulary and confidence. Don’t worry about being perfect, the goal is consistency.

6. Label Your World
If you're spending more time at home or in a cabin, label objects around you in Norwegian with sticky notes: dør, vindu, bord, stol. It’s simple, visual, and surprisingly effective.

7. Remember: It's Not About Being Perfect
Summer is a time to relax, so remember to keep it fun! Even 10 minutes a day will make a difference. Norwegian is a language best learned through small, steady steps.
