As Norway's official blues city, we would love to have “The Class of Blues” at our university in Notodden. A little information about this page - “The Class of Blues” to our Blues town! In Norway, we have several universities of classical- and contemporary music. In the middle of Norway, we have a university of Jazz, which has formed many great musicians since 1979. Now it's time to get the blues into Norwegian schools. “The Class of Blues”! The blues is jazz's greatest influence. From the time when jazz evolved from the sounds of the Mississippi Delta a century ago right up to the modern jazz of today, the blues has been a benchmark for jazz musicians. It has also had a great influence in American and Western popular music, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, rock'n roll, hip hop and pop music. Now, as Norway's official blues town, we need to have the blues into our university. There are some amazing enthusiastic people who are really working hard to see this through, but they met a system that have to use years and years of planning to even dare to start something on paper. We need Norway- and even the whole wide world of blues lovers, to get together…and get things started. No more planning is needed. Get it done! This page is created to show our support to those who work hard to make “The Class of Blues” possible. Let the blues grow!

Som Norges offisielle blueskommune og by, ønsker vi ei Blueslinja på høgskolen i Notodden. Litt om tankene rundt gruppa Blueslinja til Bluesbyen! Det finnes institutt for klassisk musikk- og samtidsmusikk. I trøndelag har de Jazzlinja, som har formet mange flotte musikere helt siden så langt tilbake som 1979. Nå er det på tide at Norge får Blueslinja! Bluesen er opphavet for mangt innen musikkens verden. Den har påvirket amerikansk og vestlig popullærmusikk, også elementer til jazzen, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, rock' n roll, hiphop og popmusikk. Det skulle bare mangle at vi ikke fikk en egen blueslinje i Norges offisielle bluesby. Vi vet at det er noen fantastiske ildsjeler som jobber iherdig om å få dette mulig, men de blir møtt med et system som må tenkes og planlegges ihjel. Vi trenger hele Norges blueselskere til å stå sammen om å få fortgang på sakerne. Det trengs ikke mere planlegging nå. Få det gjennomført! Vis ditt engasjement på at dette trenger- og ønsker vi, for å få bluesen til og fortsette å blomstre.
