opened for the first time on August 18, 2016. H.I.S. is a grade 1-10 school and has been authorized for both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).

Our PYP 1 families recently came together for a very special Community Breakfast to celebrate the end of our final Unit of Inquiry 🍳🧇

The morning was filled with warmth, laughter, and the most wonderful spread of food. Families were invited to bring a favourite or traditional breakfast dish from their culture, turning our little celebration into a beautiful table of stories, flavours, and traditions from all around the world 🌍

It was a chance for students to share their learning, for families to connect, and for all of us to sit together and celebrate just how rich and diverse our community truly is.

Thank you to every family who came, contributed, and made this morning one to remember 🙌

Recycle, reuse, reduce ♻️

PYP 2 explored the importance of caring for our planet by giving new life to everyday materials. Using recycled egg cartons, the students transformed simple waste into creative and imaginative craft projects 🎨

Through this hands-on activity, they learned how small everyday choices can help reduce waste and protect the environment. It was wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm 🌱 At HIS, we believe in learning through action, and this was a perfect reminder that caring for our planet starts with the choices we make every day 🌍

Our MYP 3 students spent time thinking, writing and preparing persuasive speeches on how to build a more inclusive society. When the moment came, they spoke with confidence, passion, and heart 🙌

From the ideas they shared to the courage it takes to speak in front of others, every single one of them gave it their all. It's always inspiring to see young learners reflect on how they can make a positive difference in their school and community 💙

Our talentet HIS Chess Team from PYP 5 recently took part in the annual outdoor chess tournament, Parksjakken in Sandnes ♟️

With giant chess boards, sunshine, and teams from schools all across Rogaland, the day was filled with excitement, teamwork, and learning. Six of our dedicated chess players represented HIS with great sportsmanship and determination. We celebrated some wins, faced a few challenging matches, and learned so much along the way.

While we didn’t bring home a trophy this time, we returned with something just as valuable, new experiences, stronger teamwork, lots of laughter, and wonderful memories from a fantastic road trip together 🚙

We are so proud of our players for showing courage, positivity, and team spirit throughout the day! 💙

Small hands can truly make a big difference! 🌎♻️

With bright smiles and excitement, our PYP 1 students celebrated Earth Day by learning how to care for the world around them. The day began with a clean-up in the playground, where they worked together to make a big difference. Through teamwork and enthusiasm, the children discovered that even small actions can have a big impact.

Indoors, creativity blossomed as students used cotton buds to paint beautiful artwork of the Earth. With vibrant blues and greens, they brought oceans and land to life, adding dotted details to create trees and textures inspired by nature. Along the way, we spoke about ways to protect our environment, reducing waste, keeping our spaces clean, and showing kindness to nature.

A warm and joyful day filled with learning, creativity, and care 🙏

There's something truly heartwarming about seeing family on stage together 💫

We love watching brother and sister duo Elsa and Andreas perform together at the HIS 10th anniversary celebration, dancing and singing to Ordinary. Their connection, joy, and teamwork made the moment so special ❤️

We are so grateful to Andreas, one of our former students, who returned not only to perform but also to support the show behind the scenes. He took care of tech, sound, and equipment throughout the event. Such a wonderful way to give back to the school community 👫

Our Grade 5 students recently reached an important milestone with the culmination of their PYP Exhibition, an inspiring showcase of learning, inquiry, and action 🏅

After many weeks of research, collaboration, and reflection, students presented projects connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From exploring environmental challenges to social issues and innovation, each project reflected not only strong academic skills, but also compassion, curiosity, and a desire to make a difference.

The exhibition marks an important milestone in the IB Primary Years Programme, showcasing not only what students have learned, but who they are becoming as global citizens.

Dancing to A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman, our PYP Dance crew truly captivated the audience with their beautiful synchronization. 👯

They brought so much color to the stage at the 10th anniversary celebration. the stage was lit up with their smiles, energy, and enthusiasm. A big thank you to Ms. Joy, whose dedication, creativity, and love for music and dance help bring out the very best in our young learners.

What a joyful celebration of Norwegian Constitution Day! ❤️🤍💙

This year, our students were proud to take part in the town’s 17. mai parade. They walked together with smiles, flags, and a wonderful sense of community. It was a special moment to celebrate Norwegian culture and traditions, while also reflecting the international spirit that makes HIS so unique. After the parade, the celebration continued at HIS with games, food, and a great atmosphere.

Seeing our students come together, representing many different backgrounds while sharing in this national celebration, truly captures the heart of our school.

To everyone who joined and cheered along the route - tusen takk. What a day to remember! 🙌
