Jakob Sande - senter for forteljekunst opna i august 2020, med formål om å forvalte og forske i arven etter forfattar Jakob Sande, bygge opp fagmiljø for forteljekunst nasjonalt og arbeide for å få fram eit mangfald av nye røyster. Senteret byggjer på Jakob Sande - selskapet, ein frivillig organisasjon som sidan 1991 har jobba med å ta vare på og fremje Sande si dikting. Senteret har eiga residensordning, der skrivande og skapande kan søke om opphald og ei mengd arrangement gjennom året, i tillegg til Fest i Fjaler i august kvart år og forteljekunstakademi. I Gamle skulehuset driftar vi vårt eige forteljehus, bokhandel og kafè som er open kvar dag i sommarsesongen, og kvar laurdag gjennom heile året. Vi har eit eige tidsskrift om og med forteljekunst. The Jakob Sande - Center for narrative arts opened in August 2020, with the aim of managing and researching the legacy of author Jakob Sande, building a professional environment for storytelling on a national level, and working to introduce a diversity of new voices. The center is based on Jakob Sande - selskapet, a voluntary organization that since 1991 has worked to preserve and promote Sande's poetry. The center has its own residency program where writers and creators can apply for stays and hosts a variety of events throughout the year. This includes the Fest in Fjaler every August and a storytelling academy. In the Old Schoolhouse, we operate our own storytelling house, bookstore, and café which is open daily during the summer season, and every Saturday throughout the year.
