🎄 Merry Christmas from Bodø International School! 🎄
We are heading into our very first Christmas holiday! It has been an eventful autumn semester filled with learning, outdoor adventures, and visits to local places like Stormen Library, the Norwegian Aviation Museum, and NIBIO.

During Advent, we enjoyed festive moments such as a Christmas disco with Mørkvedmarka School and a Christmas service. Now, we are all are taking a well-deserved break with lovely greetings and thoughtful gifts from parents and students 🌺🥰

We look forward to an exciting start in January with a new teacher joining our team and freshly furnished classrooms.

Our students enjoyed an interactive service at Hunstad Kirke with Mørkvedmarka Skole to mark the coming Christmas period on Wednesday 17th December. Another Jul themed experience our students have positively engaged with during this special time of the year.

🌍 Inquiry in Action 🏞️
As part of our Unit of Inquiry under the transdisciplinary theme "How the world works", students have been exploring different geological features.

In a hands-on session students worked in teams to explore the science behind earthquakes. Using marshmallows and toothpicks they designed and built structures, which were then tested through simulated shaking. Slow motion video helped them observe how their constructions responded to the force, sparking discussions about stability and design 🕵️

🎃 We had a really nice Halloween celebration at school last Friday. 👻
The students prepared lunch, baked cupcakes, and made their own decorations to create a cozy and festive atmosphere in the classroom.
It was a lovely way to spend time together and appreciate the creativity and effort of the students 🧡.

Today marks 4 weeks of learning at BOINT 🤩! The students have been eager inquirers learning about communities in all subject areas. They have explored rights and responsibilities and what defines different communities whilst simultaneously developing the foundations of a safe and caring classroom community .

🌍✨ Bodø International School is now an official IB Candidate School for the Primary Years Programme (PYP)! 🎉

This is an exciting step forward as we prepare to welcome our first students this August. We’re proud to bring international education to Bodø and the region – with a focus on inquiry-based learning and developing caring, globally minded learners. 🚀

We are starting with Grades 1–6 and the Primary Years Programme – and plan to offer the Middle Years Programme (MYP) as we grow.
