Moving photo exhibition, currently at University of Nordland Today, marine biodiversity play a crucial role for humanity.

This underwater photography exhibition by professor in Marine Ecology, Galice Hoarau, illustrates some of the issues related to the exploitation of marine resources. The photos taken in arctic waters illustrate what the ocean can offer of species and shows some of the abundant fauna and flora found under water in one of the most productive area for marine resources. For each photo you can read about what you see and undergoing relevant research. The University of Nordland, The Faculty of Bioscience and Aquaculture

Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture (FBA) is one of four faculties at the University of Nordland. The main campus in Bodø, with its coastal location just north of the Arctic Circle, is a perfect environment for studies and research in marine sciences in the Northern Atlantic. Aquaculture and fisheries are important economic activities in this region and they also bring societal and financial support to the faculty. Research at FBA focuses on the fields of aquaculture, marine ecology and marine genomics, and the interaction between these fields. FBA aims to be a leading international arena in the High North for education, research and knowledge dissemination in aquatic biosciences. Dette bildet av Galice Hoarau er relatert til kartlegging av organismers DNA og så kallet 'high-throughput sequencing' teknologi, som brukes for å analysere bentiske samfunn.
I et prosjekt til FBA satses det på å signifikant øke kunnskapen om bentisk biodiversitet i boreale farvann, samt bidra til molekylære referansedatabaser. Spesifikt marine nematoder.

The exhibition is now up and running!

You can find it by the main entrance of the University of Nordland for the next two weeks.

After lunchen hours the exhibition will be up and running by the main entrance to the University of Nordland. All are welcome to come and see the photo exhibition that will last for two weeks.

Next week the exhibition will be seen "back home"!

To welcome old and new students, the exhibition will be seen around campus at the University of Nordland during the opening week of the semester start. Stay tuned for more details.
