Over the past four years, I've taken a step back from private piano teaching to focus on writing piano method books and creating online piano courses. Now that these projects are streamlined and require much less time to run them smoothly, I have the capacity to teach more private lessons again.

What has happened in the last 7 months?

Well, I did not add any new videos to youtube, and for that I am sorry. In the last 7 months I had my full attention on creating lessons to www.soundofemotions.com website.
A year ago the site had 130 videos, and today the number of the lessons are 316.
We have a bunch of new
- scale workouts
- chord workouts
- new pieces in a style of jazz, blues, pop and contemporary.
- Improvisation exercises
- 100+ Pages of music sheet
- Dozens of backing tracks

I also added more than 30 practice plans to the site, so you don’t have to think about where to start and what to do next. For a while now I offer personal feedback to my online students, and that is just... such a beautiful experience. You are on the other side of the world, I help you to be a better musician, and you help me to be a better teacher.

I month ago I was taking a little break, mainly because we have recorded a new album with my band: SKAAR!

Now I am back in business, and you should expect a lot of new lessons ;)

SOUND OF EMOTIONS: CHECKPOINT 3: BLUES CHALLENGE

What is the point of this CheckPoint/Challenge?
1. One of my big goal was to teach you how to express power, energy, madness through Blues. Now you have the tool to channel your anger. You can stop hitting the wall when you are pi**ed off and just play some loud blues.

2. This Etude is a mixture of LESSON 119 and LESSON 120. I wanted to show you the power of these lessons. You can create endless etudes like this based on Lesson 113 to Lesson 120. All you have to do is to mix your favorite elements together. (Follow the practice routine I provided you under Lesson 119 and lesson 120)

3. Intermediate piano players: Learn this Etude and sent it to me. I will check out your level and I will tell you exactly what lessons you should work on. (An unlisted YouTube Video link would be perfect)

4. Advanced piano players: Challenge me! Create your own etude. Show me that you can do better than me. If you do that – and you succeed – I will challenge you back with a new, advanced lesson.

About these blues licks...
This is a true success story.
2 years ago I uploaded these licks to YouTube, so my private students in Bergen (Norway) can play along with it.
They did not use it at all, therefore I did not bother to create more videos for them.
However, a year later a checked that video in YouTube and wow, 1000 views! Still not from Norway though…
Anyway, I added a link to the description, to see if there is anyone interested to buy the music sheet. In a few days’ time I earned 2 euro! Holy Banana! 2 euro! It is almost enough money to buy something in Bergen!
And this is how this all started.
Today I am unstoppable, I can go and eat ice cream whenever I want. Do your parents think that you have no talent and you gonna end up a homeless artist? Mine did. Share this story with them and don’t give up.
PS.:
I told my mom recently, that I I have 250 000 views per month in YouTube.
She said: Yes, because you are handsome, not because you are talented.
I told her that they only see my hands.
She is still in shock.
