I was interviewd by Janat Hawa. I post a little part of the interview when I am reading the little story about the hummingbirs. The beginning of the story was cut out so I write it here.: Hanna s mother tells the story about the worlds smallest bird, The Humming Bird." Once upon a time a big fire broke out. All the ?animals rushed out of the forest to get to safety, a d they warched tgeir own home burn down. No, not everyone, a little hummingbird told herselx. I have to do something about this fire. She flew and filked ger little beak with water and dropped it over the fire.....

"IF WE WANT THERE TO BE PEACE IN THE WORLD, WE HAVE TO BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO SOFTEN WHAT IS RIGID IN OUR HEARTS, TO FIND THE SOFT SPOT AND STAY WITH IT.
WE HAVE TO HAVE THAT KIND OF COURAGE AND TAKE THAT KIND OF RESPONSIBILITY. THAT IS TRUE PRACTICE OF PEACE"
From the book: Practicing PEACE in times of war by Pema Chødøn

I had this picture made by AI. I wanted to have an illustration for a quote from I book I had read. I love the dragonfly. They should become a big dragons to scare away war.
The book is by
Svetlana Aleksijevitsj: “The Unwomanly Face of War”
The book is made on many interviews by women who fought in the Red Army during WW2. This text is from her notes about when she is collecting the interviews.
“One morning the telephone calls: “we do not know each other, but I have come from Krim, …I want to tell you about my war..”
Okey?!
I had just planned to go to the park with my little daughter. To ride the carousel. How can I explain to a six year old what is my work? She asked me a while ago: “What is war?” What shall I answer? I want her to join this world with a loving heart and teach her that you cannot just pick a flower. It is very wrong to hurt a ladybug or tear the little wing off a dragonfly. How can you explain to a child what war is? Explain death. Answer the question: why do they kill people there. They even kill small children like her…..”

Fra bokens bakside: Norwegian Hannah lives in a lush garden with a lot of trees and flowers in Kololi, The Gambia.
Her friend Ramatoulai lives across the street and there is only one tree, but it is huge and bears beautiful fruits. When Ramatoulai`s parents decide that the tree will be cut down, almost at the same time as they learn about the importance of trees at the school, a strong interest for tree planting and deforestation begins.
Wangari Maathai, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for her effort in tree planting in Kenya, becomes a great role model.
Wangari Maathai told the story of the hummingbird that never gave up, but did the best she could do.
