Some impressions from SAIH‘s Annual Meeting 2026 ☀️
This year marked notably the adoption of new political priorities for the organisation and the election of the new/old executive committee! 💪🏼

SAIH Bergen was represented numeroulsy at the meeting and was once again voted into multiple positions within the organisation.

Congratulations to all the elected and thank you for a great and successful year! 💃🏼

Recently SAIH Bergen welcomed Asria from the Norwegian Support Committee for Western Sahara in Bergen.

🗣️ She spoke about the history of her occupied homeland and the human rights violations occuring in Western Sahara, which is regarded Africa‘s last unresolved colonial conflict.

As students, researchers, or staff, we spend a lot of time on campus, full of places we shape, share, and take responsibility for.
Israeli academic institutions have for decades contributed to serious violations of international law, yet Norwegian universities and colleges hesitate to take a clear stance.

✊🏼We can’t wait for the university’s leadership. Through the international BDS campaign, we can take matters into our own hands. By making your part of the university an apartheid-free zone, we build a university free from apartheid – one zone at a time.

💡This workshop is envisioned as a collaborative space bringing together SAIH, AFZ, and a range of student and civil society actors in Bergen.
🦉UiB’s Studentparliament will be sharing a few words about their resolution on Academic Boycott, and Kamilla Stølen, UiB advisor and SAIH’s board member will be sharing experiences on academic responsability with Palestina.
