Are you interested in hearing from a researcher’s perspective on sustainability within academia? The fourth episode of our Sustainability Management Podcast is now out! 🙌

Liv-Randi Røyset is a second-year student in the Master of Sustainability Management. In this episode she interviews Eva Niesten. Eva is a Professor of Strategy and Sustainability at SKEMA Business School in Paris. She has been invited to the Sustainability Research Seminar to our Campus in Bø where we got the chance to hear about her research on solar energy firms.

What a wonderful day! Our first- and second year students went on an excursion together to dive into the world of regenerative agriculture and -food at Evju Mathage. A food garden that is primarily used for educational and research purposes. We were welcomed by a cosy fire and a hot cup of lemon-basil-tea in the outdoor kitchen.

Ana, the initiator of this project shared her knowledge and perspective on soil, regenerative agriculture, -food and ecological issues and how these topics are all connected. We learned about the implementation of permaculture principles at Evju Mathage and went on a stroll through the garden. Finally, we all got to experience a concept called “Klimakafé” by tasting the “Klima burger” prepared from ingredients grown right in the garden.

The time in the garden was additionally accompanied by a filmmaker who is interested in filming how the garden is used by students.
The film will be part of a feasibility study on urban agriculture in urban and regional development from the Vestfold and Telemark fylkeskommune which is carried out by the Urban Space Lab.

This weekend some of the students from both the first and second year of our master participated in a research project at Skagerak Arena. Here they were given VIP tickets to watch the football match between Odd and Jerv. Their task for the event was to use the prototype of Cycled’s recycling bin, and test how this works.

Hello new semester, hello new students :)
Our second year students invited the new first year students on an informative an fun day. After being introduced to the master programs podcast, the Student Democracy and the student group/linjeforening "GAIA", the day ended with a social pizza gathering on the universitys rooftop.

Selina Ohrnberger is a first year student in the Master of Sustainability Management. In this episode she interviews Ana Julie Verbelen, the initiator and project manager of Evju Mathage, a permaculture garden located just a few kilometers out of Bø. A place that combines community, education and research through permaculture and regenerative land use.

Last week, our class visited R8 at their Powerhouse in Porsgrunn. We got an introduction to their company, their sustainability strategies within their properties, and some insight to their future plans and goals.

After the presentation we got a tour of the state of the art building, and got to enjoy a good lunch with our hosts before returning to Campus Bø for the day.
