NaKuHel International Preschool (NIP) is a non-profit, English-language child development center for children aged 3 – 6 years old.
It emphasizes nature, culture and health while providing children with appropriate levels of academic, linguistic, social and physical skills. NaKuHel is an acronym for the Norwegian words for nature, culture and health. The preschool is a subdivision of NaKuHel-Barnehagen SA, a Norwegian cooperative.

Thank you all for great 7 years we had at the preschool. It is sad to know that today is the last day of NIP but we wanted to say that it was amazing getting to know all the families we had.
It is interesting that all of us in one small preschool got to know the world through all of you.

We had two very fun trip days this week. On Tuesday we went to Semsvannet where we saw mother duck with 9 ducklings and the kids decided to make a boat to send some food to them.
Today we went to Steinstranda for the first time so we went to an adventure through the woods and came down to the beach next to Tangen. And kids got to practice their climbing on the rocks.
On the way back we stopped by Nakuhel centre.

This week we focused on how to take care of the nature and why is that so important. We did an experiment where we made our own ocean and put a lot of garbage in it (that was really easy and quick) but then we cleaned it and that took a lot of time. 🌳🐟
We walked around Semsvannet and picked up all the trash we found. There was 4 full bags of it. It was a long walk but the kids enjoyed all the stops we made
Today we talked about 17th of May and the kids made their own flags 🇳🇴
Kids also painted their fire truck in which they love to play

Today we talked about who lives in a lake and made our own lake. Kids were busy building a fire truck in the afternoon 🚒☀️🐦🐟🦆

Some pictures from yesterday and today. Yesterday on trip we found a lot of hazelnuts and cracked them all. We went exploring some new areas around Semsvannet.
Today we painted on some rocks in the woods in the preschool. We also played with legos and paper airplanes.

It was a nice first day back. We found some beautiful flowers, played in the woods, made nature pictures, played with letters... We also spent some time building sand castles and drawing ☀️😊

Today we learnt about Sami culture. Kindergarten Club children helped Helga prepare food for the whole preschool. While we were waiting for lunch to be finished, we used spray bottles to paint in the snow and we coloured Sami flags. After having lunch with Tangen kids, we went outside and tried to catch a reindeer using lasso

It was fun day at the Opera house.
We saw so many rooms, some dancers, props and costumes. We even had the chance to try on some of the costumes 💃🏿
After lunch we went up to the roof and enjoyed a great view over Oslo 😊

Today we spent our trip day sledging down hills and setting up camp in the fields next to the preschool. It was a fun filled day with lots of energy used!

Well, we had fun today. We decorated our Christmas tree with the decorations that kids made yesterday and we made some delicious gingerbread cookies. The whole day we had Christmas music in the background. Such a good end of a week 🍪🎄🎄
