This year’s PYP Exhibition was another one for the books! 🌟
Our Grade 6 homeroom teacher, Ms Carmela, reflected on the journey ‘to help students transform scattered sparks of interest into meaningful and purposeful inquiries.’

‘Each year, the process evolves in response to the needs, personalities, strengths, and challenges of the learners in front of us. That is both the beauty and the complexity of authentic inquiry.

The themes explored by the students carried authenticity and emotional connection. Reaching depth was not always easy, and there were times when uncovering the “why” behind their issues required patience and persistence. But what eventually emerged was work that felt personal, honest, and truly owned by the students themselves.

The presentation days themselves were nothing short of epic. The students began nervously, as most do, but very quickly something beautiful happened: the presentations stopped feeling like presentations. Conversations flowed naturally. Stories were shared with sincerity. Visitors were not simply being “presented to” they were being invited into authentic dialogue. The students spoke with a level of ease, vulnerability, and honesty that cannot be scripted or rehearsed.

I am incredibly grateful for the learning journey I was able to experience alongside this amazing Grade 6 crew. They reminded me that inquiry is rarely neat, growth is rarely linear, and meaningful learning often emerges from the messiest moments.

A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, mentors, parents, friends, Marion from Impact Hub, our wider community, and the surrounding schools who showed up, supported our students, engaged in their conversations, and continuously encouraged them throughout this process. Your presence and support helped make this experience unforgettable.’

Dear AIS community,

We are looking for housing for two of our leaders and are wondering whether you can keep your eyes and ears open to opportunities that may be available in the market and share them with [email protected] if you hear of anything or have anything yourself that may be suited for a couple or a family.

Thank you!

It was a busy four day week at AIS! Our Grade 10 students presented their Personal Projects - a broad range of learning, from sustainable fashion to cooking to blacksmithing and more. Our youngest students celebrated SFO Day with outdoor activities, music and ice cream! Our Grade 6 students are busy (even attending school today) working on the final stages of their Exhibition. They will present next week.
We wish our community a restful and peaceful long weekend 🌿☀️🌸
