Who?
We are Richard Verschuren, Inge Hindriks and Alyssa Westhoek, three alumni from the BA English Language and Culture. We became friends during our bachelor's programme and, after some serious brainstorming, decided to start a company together ‒ Scriptly.

What?
Scriptly provides editing services for students who want to ensure their English text is both grammatically correct and well-written. We edit a wide range of English text types of any size, such as essays, theses, and PhD proposals. We minutely read the text several times, each time focusing on a specific aspect of the text. This is a very precise process and ensures that any possible errors are corrected. In the margins, we always explain why a certain correction or change has been made. As an extra, we offer a free second check ensuring the quality of each and every edited text. Our aim is to help students with their future writing by providing tips and advice on the structure of the text.

Our team consists of three near-native speakers of English, who are all well-trained in English linguistics. Since we have great affinity with the academic world, we know what professors want to read and we know what good essays look like. We’re aware that students are usually lacking in funds, so we offer them great service for a cheap price.

We are currently developing a second company, Textr - Text & Translation, which provides translation services as well as editing services for companies and non-students.

Why & How?
All three of us had been previously asked by several students to check their essays, papers and theses. There is a lack of adequate instruction in writing in academic English at vocational schools, universities and universities of applied sciences. Often, students have to, or want to, write in English but have never had any relevant courses or instruction. Scriptly aims to assist students in their further academic career by both correcting a student's text and providing additional writing advice.

Scriptly offers a basic or plus package; the packages relate to different levels of editing. The packages each have a separate rate per word that further depends on the deadline. If the assignment consists of less than 2,000 words, you will automatically get a 10% discount! Students can easily request a free quote online.
