📢📢 Speakers Reveal for "The AI Transition" Event at StartHub Wageningen!

1️⃣ Alex Grubb is a climate and biodiversity enthusiast, passionate about enabling solutions to address the world's most pressing environmental challenges from Microsoft Netherlands! He will talk about opportunities within Microsoft in . As an alumnus of Wageningen University & Research, he built a keen interest in Data-Driven Sustainable Agriculture and even mentored Microsoft for startups. 🌎

2️⃣ Andreea Moga is an AI HPC XR Innovation Expert at SURF.
She holds a Bsc and Msc in Electronics and Telecommunications (2013) and holds experience in technical roles like Data & AI Engineering and worked her way up to Management roles in companies like CGI and Accenture Technology. Since 2018 she's focussed on shaping the open innovation ecosystems locally through the philosophy of tech education to and has founded non-profits like Rotterdam.AI and TechLabs Rotterdam. As an EdTech Entrepreneur & Founder of Social Learning Communities for Tech Innovations & Mentor for Startup Founders, Andreea will be sharing do’s and dont’s when innovating with AI or building an AI Startup. 🤖

3️⃣ Rudolf Romero a graduate from Royal College of Art in London. He dedicated his research to exploring the intersection of creativity and artificial intelligence. Currently, he is actively involved in business development at Wageningen University & Research with a deep understanding of the transformative potential of AI. Driven by a passion for leveraging technology for social impact, he established 01X, a pioneering design studio to harness the power of emerging technologies & drive meaningful change. 4️⃣ Jennifer Goodall is the CEO of MindAffect, a ground breaking BCI/AI HealthTech Scale-up which was spinned out of Radboud University in Nijmegen. MindAffect was selected as a top AI Startup 2023 in NL by the Nedelandse AI Coalitie! In a nutshell, MindAffect is specialized in the application of brain-computer interface, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience to unlock the mysteries of the brain. She is a graduate of Harvard University (BA in Engineering/Computer Science) and The Wharton School School (MBA in Finance).

Today, StartHub Wageningen is excited to host an evening on sustainable coffee innovations and barista applications while offering you a "Not your Regular Cup of Coffee"☕

👨🏼‍🌾Lennart Clerkx is the founder and CEO of This Side Up Coffees- a transparent middleman that creates empathy between roaster and farmer. At our event, he will explain how their model works in practice and has the power to change one of the most colonially rooted value chains in this world.🤝🏼

👩🏼‍🎨Julia Kemp is a brand ambassador for what is called the Oatly Department of Mind Control. Her responsibilities are centered around the local implementation of the Oatly tone-of-voice: humanizing it in everything that she does - from outdoor campaigns to events, collaborations, and social and retail media. She uses language and art as a tool to spark important conversations that relate to the food industry, sustainability, and societal change. 💡

👩🏼‍🌾Rianne Vastenhouw is passionate about resilient food systems, agriculture, and ecosystem restoration and collaboratively works with stakeholders in the food system to make change happen. At Oatly, she improves the impact of the oats they source. She will talk about sustainable sourcing strategies for oats to reach Oatly’s sustainability goals for 2029, going out into the field to work together with oat-growing farmers, and knowledge sharing internally and externally. As an alumnus of Wageningen University & Research, she is excited to come back and engage with the sustainability leaders of the future! 🌾

☕David Klingen is developing coffee-free coffee, in response to the growing concern over deforestation caused by coffee farming. Together with his R&D team, he is using local, non-tropical ingredients and innovative processing techniques to create a coffee that doesn't require actual coffee beans, but still tastes like coffee, contains caffeine like coffee, and can be brewed just like regular coffee. Northern Wonder - Coffee Free Coffee guarantees that this coffee is free from deforestation. 🌱

Circular by nature; the availability and quality of water are crucial for humans, and the environment. However, the current water crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Urban water demand leads to higher wastewater and water pollution depleting our natural resources and affecting the ecosystems. Climate change further exacerbates pre-existing water stresses.

On the 28th of February, from 19:00-21:00, StartHub is organizing “Into the Blue” to shed light on how businesses offer circular ecosystem solutions that embrace resilience and inclusiveness of nature. 🐟🐠🌊
From maintenance of coral reefs and its impact on livelihoods to looking at water filtering systems particularly salient in urban areas.
