Today, we have awarded the certificates to the first online edition of the "Plant Breeders Rights for Food Security and Economic Development" training course. Congratulations to the 41 participants from 16 different countries. Welcome to the PVP family! It is priceless and motivating to see how participants coming from so many countries with different backgrounds come together with the same goal: "learn how to stimulate plant breeding to provide farmers with more and better varieties."
Putting this course online has been a great challenge that has required a great effort from different organizations and experts. Teamwork has been the key to success! we are very proud and grateful for being part of this learning experience! Scholarships are available for professionals from Afghanistan , Bangladesh , Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Colombia, DG Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Irak, Jordan, Kenia, Lebanon, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories , Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen and Zambia.

Before a new plant variety can be protected with PBR, has to meet three thecnical requierents: has to be Distinct, Uniform and Stabel. This is tested in the so called DUS trials by experienced DUS examiners. Here 3 pictures of the DUS Field trials at Naktuinbouw. Do you recognize these crops?

A delegation from Kazakhstan is visiting the NL to exchange knowledge and experiences on , registration, certification and phytosanitary issues in (seed) potatoes. Yesterday they visited today but first a presentation of Breeders Trust Association with a key message: " is the basis for doing business with breeders of seed potatoes"
