🐾 It’s not about how the animal looks — it’s about how well we listen.
Some animals make their body language easy for us to read. Others? Not so much.
Long hair, short ears, fluffy feathers or a constantly moving tail can hide some of the subtle signals an animal is giving us.
My Silkie chickens are a perfect example. 🐔✨ Their beautiful feathers can make certain body language much harder to see.
But that doesn’t make their communication less clear.
It means we, as handlers, have to become better observers.
Understanding an animal means knowing their individual signals, recognising changes in behaviour, and responding early—before a small signal needs to become a big one.
In Animal Assisted Services, responsible handling starts with listening to the animal. ❤️
The question isn’t: “Can everyone read this animal?”
It’s: “Can I read my animal?”
