GO | School for Information Hosts Workshop for Over 90 International Participants

As a highly successful start to the collaboration between The Department of Library and Information Studies, The University of the West Indies, Mona and GO opleidingen, an online workshop titled 'AI & Digital Information Literacy' took place on June 25, 2025.

No fewer than 93 participants from , & Tobago, .Lucia, , and attended the interactive workshop, delivered by GO instructor Eva Bosgraaf with assistance from Eric Kokke.

Despite the large group, Eva managed to engage all participants in the session using and group assignments in rooms, facilitating experience and knowledge sharing among attendees.

This first workshop marks the beginning of a series of international educational activities that will take place in the coming months. It served as a valuable lesson in handling different time zones, currencies, and cultural backgrounds within a single event.

A successful start that leaves us wanting more! Special thanks to the GO | School for Information colleagues Célestine Idroes and Cheryl Peltier-Davis and our colleagues at the Department of Library and Information Studies at UWI, Mona, Jamaica for their collaborative efforts in planning and coordinating this event .

One participant summed up their workshop experience in these words "Amazing session. Very interactive and informative".

GO School for Information active the Caribbean!

Last week, we were proud to participate in the 2025 Conference of The Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries (Acuril) in from 8 - 12 June 2025. ACURIL is the association of librarians, archivists, and cultural heritage professionals working across the Caribbean.

📣 Eric Kokke, director of GO | School for Information, gave two presentations. On Monday 9 June, he introduced the audience to our Community Librarian Training Program, developed in collaboration with the Nationaal Archief Suriname. On Wednesday 10 June, he delivered an energetic and interactive talk on the impact of on information discovery and retrieval.

🌍 Cheryl Peltier-Davis, GO's International Relations Manager, spoke on Tuesday 10 June about technological developments in the field and how these impact the , , , and of information professionals.

Cheryl is currently also gathering to help us realize our ambition: launching an international leadership training program for librarians and archivists.

The conference provided a great opportunity to strengthen existing connections and build new ones.

🤝 Colleagues Annelies Baak and Paul Baak Baak also proudly represented GO | School for Information, continuing our mission to expand and strengthen our international initiatives.

GO opleidingen nadrukkelijk aanwezig op CIL 2025

hashtag is een van de grotere conferenties voor de bibliotheekwereld in de Verenigde Staten. Ook dit jaar waren er weer ongeveer 800 deelnemers uit 42 verschillende landen in Washington DC aanwezig.

Bij de opening van de conferentie werd al direct duidelijk dat het Bibliotheekwezen in de VS niet hun beste tijd doormaakt door de behoorlijk ingrijpende maatregelen van de huidige regering.
