Why should you become active? ✨
- We need volunteers in order to run our organization here in Utrecht and make sure that we maintain our mission and our values.
- You will also be able to develop professionally and gain valuable skills in event management, leadership, teamwork and much more. There’s something interesting for everyone, I’ll promise you!
- Finally, you will become part of the amazing ESN Utrecht community. Our volunteers come from all over the world and foster a great community atmosphere. You’ll miss out by not joining us!
Who are we looking for? 👀
We are looking for enthusiastic and open-minded people that would like to contribute to our mission of creating a home away from home for international students. It does not matter where you come from, what you study, or whether you think pineapple belongs on pizza or not, we are happy with anyone joining us and help us improve our organization – and ultimately life for international students here in Utrecht!

Here’s how you can become active:
- Board member: each year, six board members are running the organization, taking care of the most important things such as contact with higher education institutes and sponsors, marketing and promotion, internal and external communication and budgeting. This option is a little more time-intensive (around 15-20 hours per week) but you’ll get amazing things out of this experience, believe me!
- Volunteer: our volunteers are the masterminds behind our activities. They come up with new ideas and take care of the entire organization of the events, together with the Board. By attending the events they have organized, they can in touch with our international students and bond with them. Depending on the events, this can take up between 2-4 hours per week.
- Board support and extra roles: do you want to do more than just a few hours, but the Board is a little much for you? Then think about taking up a board support function! This is very new this year, and we are still figuring it out, but potential positions could involve managing social media channels, helping with the finances of the organization, overviewing events and sponsors, and much more!
