What does it mean to truly feel at home in a new country? For many international families in the Netherlands, it starts with . 💬

More and more families are choosing to stay in the Netherlands for the long term. This is also changing the way they think about : rather than choosing between English or Dutch, many are looking for an environment where children can naturally experience both.

This summer, Basker International will run day-long Summer Camps for children aged 4-12 across multiple locations in The Hague. ☀️🕶️ Camps run from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:30, between 1 July to 28 August. How does your child feel in a group? 👦

At our childcare facilities, we pay close attention every day to and how children develop within a group. But outside childcare too, your child will often find themselves in larger groups, whether it's during a playdate, at a birthday party, in the playground, or at a sports activity.

If you have any influence over these situations, there are a few simple things you can do to help your child feel comfortable, confident and secure. Our pedagogical coach has put together some practical tips that you might find useful at home too! 💛

Today marks the start of International Mud Day! And it’s also the kick-off of Outdoor Week! 🍀

For the next week, we’re encouraging children to spend as much time outdoors as possible. This week, we’ll be handing out bingo cards to all our groups. With these cards, children in Day Care (slide 1) and After School Care (slide 2) can tick off the things they spot outside.

Think of 🦋 butterflies, 🚲 bicycles, 🐦 birds, 🕶️ sunglasses, and 🐶 dogs. Sounds fun, doesn’t it?

At The Willows Day Care, the children visited an animal farm! 🐑 They had a wonderful time meeting the animals, exploring the farm, and learning how to care for them.

The visit was part of their learning about the community and the role animal farms play within it. A wonderful day full of learning and fun! 💚

On Thursday 25 June, we will be celebrating the launch of our Clubs’ new activity programme! 🚀 The children at our After School Care locations have already been busy preparing. For each our 7 Club worlds, they are creating something special, which they will be excited to show their parents and/or caregivers on Thursday 25 June. It’s going to be a lovely afternoon filled with activities, snacks and crafts! 😍 Will you be joining too? 🪐
