🌿🌍 Sustainability in Action at ISH

Last Wednesday we welcomed a delegation of 21 Lithuanian school heads and municipal representatives, organised by the Lithuanian non-formal education agency.

The visit focused on how sustainability is embedded across ISH. After a warm welcome and lunch by Rubin Borges, J. Lakwijk guided a tour highlighting our school’s sustainability features. Students showcased their GLOBE projects on air quality monitoring around The Hague using a bicycle-mounted sensor, as well as our weather station.

The afternoon ended with an interactive workshop by W. Maris on teaching sustainability through our Global Issues Network Programme.

A small detail spotted in one of the photos: the ADO flag proudly flying above ISH — celebrating ADO Den Haag’s promotion back to the Eredivisie in March 2026. 😉

What a magical week celebrating Book Week 2026! 📚✨🐛📖

From cozy reading moments to creative costumes and shared stories, our school has been filled with imagination, laughter, and a love of books. 💛 A big thank you to parents for the super dooper costumes! 🐛📚 A special shout-out to our committed and brilliant teaching staff for bringing such energy, creativity, and connection to books, and for creating such an inspiring world of stories for our students. ✨

🎶✨ Year 9 Music in Action! ✨🎶

Last week, our Year 9 Music Enrichment class took learning beyond the classroom with a Service & Action trip to the Apple Store in The Hague.

This term’s focus? Music in Advertising.
From analysing in-store sound to creating jingles - students became real creatives for the day.

🎥 In just a few hours, they:
• Chose a local business
• Animated an advert in Procreate tool
• Composed a jingle in GarageBand

Working from a professional brief, they collaborated, challenged themselves, and brought their ideas to life.

👏 Their final adverts were showcased on the big screen - earning applause from Apple staff and shoppers!

We’re incredibly proud - what a fantastic example of creativity, teamwork, and real-world learning. Thanks to our staff, and for sharing back with the community. 🍏

Big thank you to our incredible staff and to for making the last two weeks on the school Triangle so fun and so exciting 🚲✨

Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s been great to see this come to life for students from EY–Y6 through a hands-on cycling programme in PE.

Here’s a photo of the ISH PE team with Veilig Leren Fietsen during our “bike check” day, where students had their bikes safety-checked, completed a safety quiz, and took part in a cycling skills challenge.

Huge thanks for the support, energy, and dedication - you’ve made a real impact, and kept it fun too 🙌
