TU Delft Master student Menghua Prisse from Engineering and Policy Analysis attended November 5th the inspiring Fireside Chat organized by the Digital Enlightenment Forum:

"Last week, amidst my finals for the first quarter, I had one and a half hour to talk with Timmers, Senior Advisor to the European Policy Center and Chief Advisor to the European Institute for Technology/Health. Together with students from Italy, Germany and other countries, we talked about how Paul got to where he currently is and what those positions meant. From this, the conversation moved to the politics that is involved with these positions. Treaties that block the European Commission from intervening and how the sovereignty of the involved countries plays a role as well. Can the European identity peacefully coexist next to a national identity with global politics acting up as it is? All very interesting questions and topics to which Paul contributed a lot of knowledge and new points of view. Thanks Paul!"

Five TU Delft master students: Gergely Boldizsár, Samuel Timmers, Eva Brink, Sebastiaan Beschoor Plug and Ashok Willis, participated in the NASPAA Batten simulation competition, a serious simulation game about policy making for sustainable cities. The competition took place in Budapest on Saturday February 29, 2020. The event was highly in line with the modelling and simulation done in their Master Programme Engineering and Policy Analysis (EPA). The students applied system dynamics modelling and data analysis for policy making in the simulation. At the end of the day, the TU Delft students performed exceptionally well: the team with Sebastiaan won the first prize and Ashok’s team the second.
