Over the last two days, we’ve had our first introduction to the academic programme and explored some of the healthcare challenges we are going to tackle together as future experts in this field.

Now it’s turn to introduce our course called syndemics.
Because for us was clear to understand that when we get sick, it is very likely that we can develop more than just one disease.

But, how is that possible?

At that moment is when we need to look at the environment we live in and our conditions. Are these conditions interacting making worse our prognosis?

How can we handle it? Is it possible to change variables that are out of our capabilities?

This is the moment where syndemics plays a key role. It helps us to understand the chain of events that can make a health episode reversible or not.

On King’s day we wear orange 🧡
But we can also talk about our master’s and we we learned.

This episode is about predictive analytics, because just as your algorithm in social media, we use data to understand realities and intervene where is needed.

It is not a walk in the park, of course BUT we have been seeing small improvements in the way we are tackling health problems.

This and much more you can learn in this master’s. So, don’t hesitate, join us in this new challenge of re-think the health of populations.

A lot of people don’t know BUT you can combine the master’s in Population Health Management at Leiden University with a Master’s of Public Health at the University of Birmingham.
