Staff shelter De Helsdeur pumping station, Den Helder, part 1. This shelter could accommodate 90 to 100 people, primarily employees of the pumping station and the adjacent sea lock, together with their families and members of the municipal government. Keeping the pumping station operational was vital, as it played (and still plays) a crucial role in regulating the water levels across a large part of the province of North Holland. The pumping station itself was also designed to withstand the impact of a bomb exploding in its immediate vicinity.

Bedrijfsschuilplaats gemaal De Helsdeur, Den Helder, deel 1. In deze schuilkelder konden 90 tot 100 mensen worden ondergebracht, voornamelijk personeel van het gemaal en de naastgelegen zeesluis plus hun gezinsleden en het gemeentebestuur. Het draaiende houden van het gemaal was (en is) ook in oorlogstijd cruciaal voor de waterhuishouding in een groot deel van de provincie Noord-Holland. Het gemaal zelf is ook bestand tegen een bominslag in de directe omgeving.

Civil Defence command post, Kring Friesland-a, Sneek, part 2. This command post was completed on December 28, 1966. From here, approximately 2,400 people would be directed in the event of emergencies. The bunker was equipped with, among other things, a 5,000-liter drinking water tank, a groundwater well, a 5,000-liter diesel tank, and 18 sleeping places.

Bescherming Bevolking Kringcommandopost, Kring Friesland-a, Sneek, deel 2. Deze commandopost werd op 28 december 1966 opgeleverd. Van hieruit zouden bij calamiteiten circa 2400 mensen worden aangestuurd. De bunker was onder meer voorzien van een drinkwatertank van 5000 liter, een bronwaterput, een dieseltank van 5000 liter en 18 slaapplaatsen.

Naval Air Station Valkenburg was an important base of the Netherlands Naval Aviation Service (Marineluchtvaartdienst, MLD) during the Cold War. Among the aircraft stationed here were the Lockheed Neptune, the Breguet Atlantic and the Lockheed Orion, whose primary mission was anti-submarine warfare. In the 1950s and 1960s, Valkenburg also served as the shore base for the aircraft and helicopters of the aircraft carrier Karel Doorman. The air station was closed in 2006.

Marinevliegkamp Valkenburg was tijdens de Koude Oorlog een belangrijke basis van de Marineluchtvaartdienst (MLD). Hier waren onder meer de Lockheed Neptune, de Breguet Atlantic en de Lockheed Orion gestationeerd, vliegtuigen met als primaire taak de onderzeebootbestrijding. In de jaren vijftig en zestig fungeerde Valkenburg tevens als walbasis voor de vliegtuigen en helikopters van het vliegdekschip Karel Doorman. Het vliegkamp werd in 2006 gesloten.

Civil Defence command post, Kring Friesland-a, Sneek, part 1. The Civil Defence organization (Bescherming Bevolking) was organized at regional, provincial, and national levels. A so-called "Kring" consisted of several municipalities, each Kring had it's own command post. The bunker in Sneek measures 17 by 17 metres and, in times of crisis, was intended to accommodate a staff of 54 people.

Bescherming Bevolking Kringcommandopost, Kring Friesland-a, Sneek, deel 1. De Bescherming Bevolking was regionaal, provinciaal en nationaal georganiseerd. Een zogenaamde "Kring" bestond uit een aantal gemeenten, elke kring had zijn eigen commandopost. De bunker in Sneek meet 17x17 meter en zou in crisistijd een bezetting van 54 personen hebben.

Luchtwachttoren 7Z3 Schoonebeek, in use from 1954 to 1964 by the Korps Luchtwachtdienst (KLD) for the visual detection, identification, tracking, and reporting of aircraft. The KLD had 276 observation posts, about half of which were specially built "raatbouw" towers. These were constructed using prefabricated concrete elements.

Luchtwachttoren 7Z3 Schoonebeek, van 1954 tot 1964 in gebruik bij bij het Korps Luchtwachtdienst (KLD) voor de visuele detectie, identificatie, volgen en rapporteren van vliegtuigen. Het KLD beschikte over 276 uitkijkposten, waarvan ongeveer de helft op speciaal hiervoor gebouwde raatbouwtorens. Hiervoor werd gebruikgemaakt van betonnen prefab-elementen.

NATO Headquarters / Joint Operations Centre Cannerberg part 3. This joint command center (2ATAF and NORTHAG) also provided space for social activities. There were two clubs: the Flinstones Club (for officers) and the Mushroom Club (for other ranks). Both clubs had their own bar. In the restricted area, the operations room was located. Not every staff member had access to this section.

Zo waren er twee clubs: de Flinstones Club (voor officieren) en de Mushroom Club (voor overige rangen). Beide clubs beschikten over een eigen bar. In de "restricted area" bevond zich de "operations room". Niet iedere medewerker had toegang tot dit gedeelte.

NATO Headquarters / Joint Operations Centre Cannerberg part 2. This joint command center (2ATAF and NORTHAG) naturally had its own power station. Three diesel generators of 500 kVA each provided power to the massive facility. In 1972, a connection to the public electricity grid was established; from then on, the generators served as a backup. To fuel the generators, there were nine diesel tanks of 21000 liters and two of 3000 liters present. Furthermore, there were three oil tanks each with a capacity of 1500 liters, along with two others holding 1000 liters.

NATO Hoofdkwartier / Joint Operations Centre Cannerberg deel 2. Dit gezamenlijke commandocentrum (2ATAF en NORTHAG) beschikte uiteraard over zijn eigen energiecentrale. Drie dieselaggregaten van elk 500 kVa voorzagen het gigantische complex van stroom. In 1972 kwam er een aansluiting op het publieke elektriciteitsnet, vanaf toen dienden de aggregaten als backup. Om de aggregaten van brandstof te voorzien, waren er negen dieseltanks van 21000 liter en twee van 3000 liter aanwezig. Bovendien waren er drie olietanks met een capaciteit van 1500 liter, samen met twee andere met 1000 liter inhoud.

NATO Headquarters / Joint Operations Centre Cannerberg part 1. This joint command centre and war headquarters of 2ATAF (Second Allied Tactical Air Force) and NORTHAG (Northern Army Group) was located in a marl mine in the far south of the Netherlands. The complex consisted of a network of tunnels measuring an impressive 8 kilometers (5 miles) in length and included, among other things, 400 office spaces. In full occupancy, more than 1000 people would be working here.

Dit gezamenlijke commandocentrum en oorlogshoofdkwartier van 2ATAF (Second Allied Tactical Air Force) en NORTHAG (Northern Army Group) was gevestigd in een mergelgroeve in het uiterste zuiden van Nederland. Het complex bestond uit een gangenstelsel van maar liefst 8 kilometer lengte en omvatte onder andere 400 kantoorruimtes. Bij volledige bezetting zouden hier ruim 1000 mensen werkzaam zijn.

Shelter Schiebroekselaan Rotterdam. In this shelter, in case of an emergency, 50 passersby could stay isolated from the outside world for 48 hours on an area of 22 square meters. The manually operated air filtration system is equipped with a sand filter and a carbon filter. At the time, there was a supply of emergency rations, water, and candles available. There were 17 shelters of this type built in Rotterdam, and there is a second one located right next to the one on Schiebroekselaan.

Schuilkelder Schiebroekselaan Rotterdam. In deze schuilkelder zouden in geval van nood 50 passanten gedurende 48 uur (op een oppervlak van 22 m2) afgesloten van de buitenwereld kunnen verblijven. De handbediende luchtverversing is voorzien van een zandfilter en een koolstoffilter. Destijds was er een voorraad noodrantsoenen, water en kaarsen aanwezig. Van dit type schuilkelder zijn er in Rotterdam 17 gebouwd, direct naast die aan de Schiebroekselaan bevindt zich nog een tweede exemplaar.
