I am a certified TEFL (teaching English to foreign learners) teacher and train people individual or in groups (in-house) in place or on skype/telephone.

My page is to introduce myself and the different methods I use to help people to improve their English. I help you improve your conversation, I help you prepare for job interviews, presentations, and improve your professional language. However, I also help you improve your general conversation.

I haven't posted anything on this page for a long time, but I would like to let you know, that I am still going strong and teaching people in France, Spain and Italy to improve their English and to get over the fear of speaking. Making mistakes is part of speaking a language and while living in France and speaking the language every day, I still make them. If you are looking for confidence in speaking English, or if you want to improve your overall English skills, don't hesitate, just let me know. Improving your English can be a lot of fun.......I promise!

We are nearly in 2022 and we start a new year. I have been training people in English online for years and now it seems that due to Covid we all find this a lot less daunting than we did before. I am available for you to follow lessons online or....

For next year I offer day-trainings in your company for those people who feel they would like to learn more, and feel more secure when speaking. A day training consists of speaking and reading, watching and speaking, grammar and speaking, culture and speaking.... a lot of speaking. I will give you the tools to continue to improve your English on your own, or with a friend, but I assure you that you will feel more confident after a one day training with me.
In-company training for up to 15 people a day. Location: your company.

A long period of silence, but I am still here. I have been very busy teaching and have once again room to take on new students. Try the effect of a teacher on skype or on the phone!! It is amazing and you would not have thought so.

We all want to live in Malta.... work there and live a nice carefree life in the sun. It is easy, right? We all speak English... but are you really able to do your job in a language that is not your mother tongue? Are you eloquent, fluent, voluble, glib, articulate..............can you elucidate, explain, clarify, annotate, interpret, expound......and can you comprehend, comprise, realize.....

I organise the following:
- in house training designed for your branch with up to 20 people, 1 or 2 days.
- face-to-face business/general English teaching, 10/15/20 hours all inclusive
- group lessons on weekly basis, max 6 people, intensive training 1//15/20 hours
- telephone/skype training (package 10/15/20 hours)

My aim is to make you feel confident, because you know your vocabulary and I want you to be able to speak, to give your opinion and to debate with confidence. I will train you to hold speeches, to react in meetings and to do the best presentations ever. I will also be able to guide you to a new job, job interviews and improve your C.V.. I have 25 years of experience in teaching English as well as 40 years working in international companies and for the national government in the Netherlands in the functions of secretary-office manager- HR/recruitment - project assistant. Last but not least I spent 11 years in the United Kingdom and even used to run pubs for Bass Charrington!!!

Australian, American and British English. They all stem from the same English and have altered due to life. Languages are like living things: they change because we change them and changes when used by a majority becomes normal. Take this one: "a pair of shoes" are or is? Data: are or is? We make the language and we alter it through the time.
The fact remains English is a funny language as you can see below in this poem.....

English is now the language used all over the world and most universities in the EU teach in the English language. We see jobs advertised in English and we are all supposed to be able to understand all, be fluent ourselves and have an impeccable written English. I have worked with students needing their TOEIC exam before they are able to receive their Master's Degree, helped with their thesis and simply prepared them for the TOEIC exam. I also frequently help people in government or business preparing for speeches, presentations and job interviews. Most of all I help you feel more confident through training and by simply showing you the ropes to integrate English in your day-to-day life.

I was told last week that this page contains a negative word: FEAR and advised to change my name here, however I have been using it for twenty years and up till now people thought it was a great name: English without Fear means that I will help you speak English without you being afraid to speak or afraid you will not find the words you need. I will help you be confident when you speak English and practice with you till you know exactly what I mean....and there will be no more fear, hesitation, outbreaks of sweat, or total blockage but only English flowing out of your mouth......

I am sure you have minutes of your meetings and you will be aware of the fact that they are important. I have taken down minutes of meetings for years and even worked for the Ministry of Immigration and Naturalization when minutes become a legal document. I can teach your employees how to improve their minutes in English, teaching both the methodology of writing minutes as well as the language and vocabulary used.
