Introducing the Jan Laurens Hartong Collection! 🎶
Jan Hartong, co-founder of the World Music Academy at Rotterdam Conservatory, left behind a musical legacy that continues to inspire. Thanks to Diana Hartong's generous donation, his works are now the intellectual property of Codarts. Special thanks to Nils Fischer for his support. Dive into Hartong's masterpieces like Afro Cuban Sanctus, Requiem para el Mundo, and more in our catalogue.

We have added a new digital resource to our collection: Daniel’s Orchestral Music Online.

This tool is invaluable when planning a performance or doing research. On this platform, you can browse orchestral music by composer, instrumentation, period, and you can find basic information for each composition and its composer.

Coming week the Codartswide projectweek week will be taking place!
Even our Library will become a stage for the wonderful performances that the students will have cooked up. The opening times will be as normal on Monday through Wednesday, however on Thursday (30/3) we will be closed and on Friday (31/3) we will be open only until 13.30. We hope you will all have a wonderful and inspiring projectweek!

In 1722 Johann Sebastian Bach published the Well-Tempered Clavier “for the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this study”. In celebration of this anniversary, the following article was published on JStor.
