Last week, a delegation from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science visited the Graphic Lyceum Rotterdam and Zadkine. The focus of the visit was on the opportunities that internationalization offers in education to MBO students.
Sjoerd Wanrooij of Bureau Internationalisering received the visitors at the GLR and took them on a tour of the school. He explained the professional context within which internationalization takes place at the GLR.
Participants from various international projects shared their experiences. For example, teacher Manouk van Eesteren reflected on the DOCE project (Digital Online & Creative Education). In this project, several European schools shared their experiences with online education in the creative sector.
Student Tyra, who graduated in 2019 in the AV Specialist course, talked about her time in England where she participated in the Commerciapolis project. Tyra has also completed the Bridging Course at GLR, which gives GLR students the opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree within one year at one of GLR partner Universities in the UK. Tyra still lives there. These were just some of the stories shared with the ministry staff, who were impressed by the many projects and internships of students abroad.

From 23 till 25 of May we had the DOCE meeting in Verona, Italy.
The DOCE project aims to reinforce the ability of teachers to develop high quality digital education within the creative sector and beyond.
We discussed what we learned during Covid, when all classes suddenly had to be online. What went well? What could be better? What experiences can we use in the future?
Three very inspiring days because of all participants and Pedro de Bruyckere as keynote speaker.
