Ports matter more than you think.
We hosted a webinar for PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) on how connectivity, criticality and community engagement shape modern port development.
Dr. Maurice Jansen also outlined MELβs two tracks:
β’ Tailor-made in-company programmes for organisations: https://www.maritimeeconomics.com/en/research-programmes/custom-programmes
β’ The MEL MSc for individual professionals: https://www.maritimeeconomics.com

Webinar Highlight:
Dr Maurice Jansen recently hosted a webinar for Pelindo Indonesia on the role of ports in modern society. He focused on three key ideas:
β’ Connectivity β how well-connected ports shape maritime corridors and influence logistics costs
β’ Criticality β why port resilience matters, especially for island communities when disasters strike
β’ Community engagement β linking port development with well-being, cultures and local networks
The webinar also outlined how MEL supports the maritime sector through two pathways:
For organisations: Tailor-made in-company programmes for port authorities, terminals, logistics companies and public agencies.
