The new “3 Stories” lightbox riso exhibitor is REMCO VAN ZOEREN . He’s a 2nd year Graphic Design student. Remco’s atyle is colorful and experimental, using and playing with new techniques and materials. His main topics are randomness, social and a little bit corparate.
His exhibition shows his way of working and getting inspiration. His works are based on randomness, playfulness, experiment and fun. These are important factors in his creative process. The amount of color in Remco’s work also gives him the feeling his work is alive. At the academy he found out he loves to work with combinations of analog and digital techniques.
Work 1 _______________
Randomness Creates Playfulness
He selected 7 images randomly from his phone and computer and used various tools to make them in red and white. The text in the other layer are the letters of the title.
Work 2_______________
RISO IS FUN
Because the posters are RISO printed he took their logo and started to morph it into weird shapes. He made a double exposure of the morphed logos. In the back, there is also the text “RISO IS FUN” that refers back to the title. This is in a NEON GREEN color which is a typical color represents Remco.
Work 3_______________
GRAPHIC DESIGN IS MY PASSION
This piece shows what his passion is. For the flowers in the background he experimented first with the LEGO press, after this he scanned and used it later on in his digital file. In this way, he could print it in neon orange with the RISO printers. The text is handwritten, this gives a personal layer to his works.
