This years Rotterdam skullbase course has unfortunately finished. We are proud to say that it was very successful and enjoyable.

Thanks to the inspirational presentations and dissections of dr Krisht, who illustrated the beautiful skull base approaches that guide us safely and efficiently through the cavernous sinus, we were able to broaden our scopes and insights to the better good of our future patients.

Our gratitude goes to the staff and students of the skillslab and the faculty of the course, and last but not least the participants that made the course complete.

Many questions remain and we will be back to learn and teach more in 2023.

The first day of the Rotterdam Skull Base Course 2022 has finished. It was a great honor to finally host all 23 participants at the Skillslab of the Erasmus University.

Despite suffering some minor hiccups, that were adequately addressed by the faculty and laboratory staff, we believe that this first day was as educational as it was philosophically fulfilling. Under the leadership and eloquent teaching of prof. Krisht the pterional approach and opening of the Sylvian fissure were addressed. Also, the first tantalizing baby steps towards the cavernous sinus and the transcavernous approach were taken.

Are the students ready? Speaking for myself, I will always remain a student. It is almost time to enjoy many days of inspiration, microsurgical training, clinical reasoning, and anatomy. Can’t wait to host everyone in Rotterdam.
