We successfully carried out a textbook exchange campaign at the Jesuit Classical Gymnasium in Osijek!

Through this campaign, we encouraged students to extend the life cycle of their textbooks by exchanging them, helping to reduce paper waste and promote the responsible use of resources. Every reused textbook means less unnecessary consumption, less waste, and another step towards protecting the environment.

Students, accompanied by their teacher Rahela Janson Lozančić, participated in the conference “Values at the Borders of the EU”, held on 17 June 2026 in Zagreb at the premises of the European Parliament Office in Croatia.

The discussion focused on the role of young people in promoting European values, as well as the challenges and opportunities for their active involvement in social and political processes at the local, national, and European levels.

As the conference theme was closely related to the objectives of the Erasmus+ project “It's Time”, the students and their teacher presented the project's activities and outcomes and disseminated its results. Particular emphasis was placed on the values that young people consider important for the future of Europe, such as green energy, intergenerational justice, cultural exchange, and respect for diversity.

Students and teachers of Şehit Ömer Halisdemir AİHL organized a deeply meaningful visit to a local nursing home. The highlights of the day were the heartfelt conversations, shared smiles, and a very special presentation.

During the visit, our students gifted the beautiful bags they had personally crafted in our DIY Space. These unique bags, created through upcycling and sustainable crafting, were a perfect symbol of our community's care and creativity. Bringing generations together and seeing the joy on the residents' faces reminded us all of the power of sharing and connection.

"Waste-Free School” Week

As part of the project, Colegiul Național „Liviu Rebreanu” Bistrița is proud to launch “Waste-Free School” Week, a week-long awareness campaign aimed at promoting sustainable living and the responsible use of resources.
Throughout the week, students and teachers will take part in a variety of activities designed to encourage more sustainable habits and reduce waste.
One of the highlights is a school fair organized by primary, middle, and high school students, where school uniforms, textbooks, workbooks, stationery, and other educational materials in good condition are being sold, exchanged, and donated. By giving these items a second life, we help reduce waste and protect the environment.
The campaign also includes the creation of posters, informational materials, videos, and easy-to-follow mini-guides that explain what a sustainable lifestyle means and how we can make more environmentally responsible choices every day.
Through these activities, we hope to inspire our entire school community to reflect on consumption, reduce waste, and recognize that every action counts.
