⭕️ Feedback. For some, it’s an untamable beast. For others, it’s the key to finding beauty in the chaos.

Which team are you?

A new instrument comes out next week. An instrument like no other. Stay tuned!

We are officially a non-profit!
It's not news that the nature of our activities is non-profit, but now finally it's official - we are a non-profit! Synthux Academy was formed on the vision to help artists and makers build their own instruments and interactive art experiences, learning design and engineering skills along the way. For over two years we've released podcasts, workshops, DIY kits, courses, open source projects and built a vibrant community online. But there's much more to come. We want to grow, form more collaborations and create more educational activities both online and in physical space.

After tons of documents and a tedious bureaucratic process we have officially opened a non-profit organization in The Netherlands under the name PTM Academy. Synthux Academy is part of this umbrella of activities my partner and I are developing for the past three years since we started focusing fully on education. We hope this will allow us to bring more learning content and activities in the digital space.

Thank you for being part of this journey! Without you the academy would still be just another idea.

Yours,
Roey

Performance is an instinctive thing, A guitarist or a drummer don't think about the instrument when playing - they simply play. When designing a synthesizer we should keep that in mind. What makes a synth performable is the layout. It is the structure that makes it easy to memories and interact with. Lúbadh by can serve as a good example here. It's a complex machine, but even from a quick glance, we can speculate what each k**b might do. The layout informs the user on the key features and complementary ones.

On a different topic - did you know that by commenting on an Instagram post you help other people see it? Yes, I'm super new to Instagram and any comment you drop below can help bring this to more people like us. Share the love for synth perfection!

Yours,
Roey

This back curve is an iconic design by Axel Hartmann who had worked on the Sub 37. The team wanted to bring the interface to an angle so it'll be easier to interact with. They could have simply lift it up and disregard the back anaesthetics, but instead, they gave it the extra thought and came up with this bent backplate - a feature that defines its signature look and is now implemented in many other synths.
