Listening is often the skill learners find most frustrating.
You may understand Dutch when you read it, but spoken Dutch feels much faster. Words connect, sounds change, and there is little time to translate. This does not necessarily mean that your vocabulary is insufficient. Often, your brain simply needs more experience processing Dutch in real time.
Effective listening practice should gradually train you to:
🎧 remain focused when you miss a word
🧠 process Dutch without translating every sentence
🔊 recognise familiar vocabulary in natural speech
⏱️ make decisions under exam conditions
📈 learn from recurring mistakes
Progress may feel slow because listening develops quietly.
NT2 Oefening helps you practise with exam-style tasks, receive direct feedback, and follow your progress over time.
