🌞 As usual, Friday = Foodbank's Food Giveaway! 🙂🥦🥖🍎

We shall have many fresh veggies 🥕, fruits 🍇, bread 🥖, pastry 🥐 and also frozen products ❄️ available for everyone who would like to join us in our mission of preventing/reducing local food waste 🌍♻️!

We kindly ask all participants to support our initiative 💚 and our work by either helping out 🤝 for a bit during the event or by giving a small contribution 💶 (3 to 5 EUR) with which we try to cover our costs and the necessary investments into our equipment ⚙️.

📍 You're welcome to visit us from 19:30 till 22:00 in our Foodbank space @ Landbouwbelang (Maasmolendijk 24). ⏰

🇳🇱 🍕 𝟭𝟳𝟬𝟬+ 𝗸𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗴𝗺𝗶𝘅 𝗴𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗱 – 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝘇𝗻𝗲𝘆! 🍕

Vorige week ontving Foodbank Maastricht een genereuze donatie van Gozney Deutschland: meer dan 1.700 kg pizzadeegmix!

In plaats van te worden verspild, blijft meer dan 1,7 ton perfect bruikbaar voedsel onderdeel van de voedselketen. Het zal via Foodbank Maastricht worden herverdeeld en gedeeld met andere organisaties in de regio.

✅ 1.700+ kg gered van onnodige voedselverspilling
✅ 1.700+ kg dat een nieuwe bestemming krijgt
✅ 1.700+ kg om te delen in onze regio

Het verwerken van meer dan 1,7 ton voedsel vraagt ook om de nodige logistiek. Daarom een speciaal woord van dank aan het team van Mainfreight voor hun hulp met de logistiek en het laden en voor het mogelijk maken van het ophalen van deze enorme donatie. 🙌

Dit is circulariteit in de praktijk: voedsel dat er al is, moet worden gebruikt en niet verspild.

Foodbank Maastricht en Stichting EcoSocial Lab werken actief aan de voedseltransitie in Limburg en helpen zo mee aan een duurzamer en circulair regionaal voedselsysteem. Door onnodige voedselverspilling te voorkomen, bestaande middelen beter te benutten en voedseloverschotten te verbinden met plekken waar ze nog kunnen worden gebruikt, creëren we lokale en regionale impact en dragen we bij aan een duurzamer Limburg. ♻️

Last week, Foodbank Maastricht received a generous donation from Gozney Deutschland: more than 1,700 kg of pizza dough mix!

Instead of becoming waste, more than 1.7 tonnes of perfectly usable food will remain in the food chain. It will be redistributed through Foodbank Maastricht and shared with other organisations across the region.

✅ 1,700+ kg saved from unnecessary food waste
✅ 1,700+ kg given a new purpose
✅ 1,700+ kg to be shared across our region

Handling more than 1.7 tonnes of food also requires some serious logistics. A special thank you to the Mainfreight team for helping us with the logistics and loading and for making the collection of this enormous donation possible. 🙌

This is circularity in practice: food that already exists should be used, not wasted.

Foodbank Maastricht and Stichting EcoSocial Lab are actively working on the food transition in Limburg, helping to build a more sustainable and circular regional food system. By preventing unnecessary food waste, making better use of existing resources and connecting surplus food with places where it can still be used, we create local and regional impact and contribute to a more sustainable Limburg. ♻️

It’s time for a new edition of Foodbank’s Sustainability Dinner! 🎉

This week, the Netherlands is celebrating Verspillingsvrije Week, a nationwide campaign encouraging everyone to waste less food. What better time to come together, rescue good food and turn it into something delicious? 🌍💚

At Foodbank, we believe good food is best enjoyed together – and that fighting food waste can be fun and delicious. Every saved meal is a small step toward a healthier planet for us and future generations.

So bring your friends and join us for an evening of chopping “orphaned” veggies, cooking together, and sharing a tasty vegan dinner! 💚

🎶 And this Wednesday, there’s more!

Felipe Valois brings the warmth, intimacy and soul of Brazilian music to Foodbank Maastricht with his singer-songwriter performance.

🎧 DJ Critical Tinker brings an energetic mix of house, tribal and disco, with a special selection of India-fusions.

🎧 DJ R-Muller brings hypnotic and sensual sounds, mixing R&B, dancehall, afrobeats and reggae revival.

Deze week is het Verspillingsvrije Week, een landelijke campagne die iedereen aanmoedigt om minder voedsel te verspillen. Welk moment is beter om samen te komen, goed voedsel te redden en er iets lekkers van te maken? 🌍💚

Bij Foodbank draait alles om samen genieten van lekker eten – en het tegengaan van voedselverspilling. Elke geredde maaltijd is een stapje richting een gezondere planeet, voor ons en toekomstige generaties.

Dus nodig je vrienden uit en doe gezellig mee: samen groenten snijden, koken en natuurlijk genieten van een heerlijke veganistische maaltijd! 💚

🎶 En deze woensdag is er nog meer!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧 event had to be postponed. It will now take place on Wednesday 7 October.

The good news? We have more time to make it even better - and more time for 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗧! 💚 Our Open Call is now open until 30 September.

Organised by EcoSocial Lab and Foodbank Maastricht, together with the European Climate Pact community in the Netherlands, Food for Thought brings together food, sustainability and creativity in a day full of ideas, experiences and encounters - with workshops, talks, discussions, art, film, food and music. Come to learn something new, meet people, exchange ideas, get inspired, enjoy good food and music, or simply see where the day takes you.

And we’re still building the programme! 🌱

Het goede nieuws? We hebben meer tijd om er iets nóg mooiers van te maken - en meer tijd voor 𝗝𝗢𝗨 𝗢𝗠 𝗠𝗘𝗘 𝗧𝗘 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗡! 💚 Onze Open Call loopt nu tot 30 september.

Food for Thought wordt georganiseerd door EcoSocial Lab en Foodbank Maastricht, samen met de European Climate Pact-community in Nederland, en brengt voedsel, duurzaamheid en creativiteit samen in een dag vol ideeën, ervaringen en ontmoetingen - met workshops, talks, discussies, kunst, film, eten en muziek. Kom iets nieuws ontdekken, mensen ontmoeten, ideeën uitwisselen, inspiratie opdoen, genieten van lekker eten en muziek, of gewoon kijken waar de dag je brengt.

En we zijn het programma nog aan het samenstellen! 🌱
