The 2020-2021 CERiM Communicating Europe Award for Research-Teaching Integration was conferred to Prof. Susan Schreibman and Dr. Costas Papadopoulos for their research-led course, Digital Collections I and II, which taught students how to create a digital collection.
The 2020-2021 CERiM Communicating Europe Award for Outstanding Interdisciplinary Research was conferred to Dr. Ferenc Laczo and his colleagues editors of The Routledge History Handbooks of Central and Eastern Europe in the Twentieth Century.

📣Save the Date | Jean Monnet lecture
The first Jean Monnet Lecture of 2021 will be held on the 12th of January with Marietje Schaake!
Marietje Schaake is a member of the Dutch party D66 and has been a Member of the European Parliament between 2009 and 2019, as part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party. Schaake has been named International Director of Policy at Stanford’s Cyber Policy Center, as well as an International Policy Fellow at the University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, she is President of the CyperPeace Institute.
She writes a column for the Financial Times and the Dutch NRC newspaper’s economic section twice a month.

Yesterday the EP approved the Climate Law package 352 to 326. 🇪🇺Among other things, it increases the reduction of the bloc's greenhouse gas emissions from 40 to 60 percent by 2030, setting up a clash with some member countries considering such a deep cut to be "too much"🚗 🏭It also called for climate neutrality to be binding on a national level 🌱
