The Universalis Academic Council represents the interest of UCM student in all academic matters at UCM. The five student members that form the Academic Council work together with students, teachers and staff members in order to positively reflect upon the quality of the UCM's education. [An exciting announcement from UCSRN and a call for participants]
UCSRN is hosting a focus group on "life after UC" at Amsterdam University College on March 28th! In this focus group questions such as the value of LAS education in academia and the job market, successful masters transitions and questions regarding LAS-students futures will be addressed. This is a great opportunity to figure out some answers to the difficult question of what can actually be done in the real world with a bachelor of liberal arts and sciences!
For this we are looking for alumni who are willing to share their stories of life after UCM with students and alumni from other UC's in the Netherlands. The results of the focus group will be synthesised and presented to all deans of University Colleges in a letter. Hi everyone!
The Academic Committee of the UCSRN will be hosting a focus group. The main focus revolves around “Life after UC” and aims to address questions about the recognition and promotion of the Liberal Arts and Sciences degree, Master’s transitions, skills of UC students, etc. The focus group will be held on the 28th of March at Amsterdam University College (AUC) at 13:30. After the main discussion, there will also be an alumni panel where alumni from all different UCs can share their thoughts and give feedback on the process. Students will also have a chance to talk to alumni and learn more about their experiences or ask them questions. There will be pizza and coffee/tea and a borrel after at Cafe Maslow.

Are you passionate about education and interested in helping students who are structurally disadvantaged? One possible way to go after UCM, next to continuing on with a masters or interning, are the programs related to the Teach for All network. Those programs offer the
opportunity to be placed as teachers or teacher assistants for at least two years within schools in disadvantaged communities. At the same time fellows receive training and ongoing coaching, to develop the mindsets,
skills, and knowledge they need to be successful teachers within their communities.
UCM alumni (graduated in 2017) and current Teach First fellow Sam Schulz and Lea Stoicheva Chan introduced Teach First Deutschland and the Teach For All network today.
